From their 1967 album, "Their Satanic Majesties Request", this is one of their prettiest and most uncharacteristic song Mick and Keith wrote. Brian Jones on the melletron piano playing an ascending run with a turn about with a reoccurring motif, the beautiful strings and Nicky Hopkins on the piano, the lyrics and vocals all outstanding. One of my favourite Stones songs. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and JKClark.👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

They wrote many more such songs though. In mid to late 60s. Aftermath, Between Buttons and other singles during that period have many catchy pop pretty songs, some with hint of psychodelia. That’s when Stones discovered their own engishness, eccentricity and got way from heavy influence of R’n’B. Ruby Tuesday, Lady Jane, Connection, Tell me - all have that pretty melodic character.

We were at the only Canadian concert that the Stones held during their 2019 tour - they gave the audience 3 songs to choose from - and were surprised that the vote (by far) was this one! It was a magical song to perform at a magical concert. We Canucks have good taste, I think! :)
