I chuckled to myself yesterday, in a Home Depot here in Phoenix, while trying to explain a 1 1/4" - 18 jamb nut I needed to seat a plumbing fixture. After approximately 213 questions as to how I know that's what I need, ( Quite simply, I put a pair of calipers on the O.D., and checked the thread count with a thread pitch gauge...)
