Why bother with a script? They had Tommy on stage. You just let that man go and he'll create another masterpiece.

Tommy here is actually acting pretty normal. He also is being funny many times, but not pathetic funny.. He should try to make more of the "so bad it's good"
@icorrectly3 жыл бұрын
The thing is, he didn't intend to make movies and shows that are so bad they're good, so I don't think he knows how to catch that ironic lightning in a bottle. If he tries to make something serious, we get what we want 😂 Have you seen Wiseau's show "The Neighbors"? It's a trainwreck and I like it, even though it's arguably worse than The Room.
@icorrectly2 жыл бұрын
@L.O. Productions second account I don't know if "nobody" ever intends to do that. Technically that's what Tommy's play is doing, mimicking the trainwreck that is The Room after retroactively spinning how bad it was as intentional.
@icorrectly2 жыл бұрын
@L.O. Productions second account Maybe. Reality TV and social media stars make me wonder about that. You might create trainwreck content just by being yourself while owning that fact.

As a fan of the film I feel sad for Greg and Tommy. It’s like they sold their souls out there on stage. Tommy accepting what the audience truly thinks of his work and Greg losing whatever remaining respect he had for this. That’s life.
@the0rangekind6 жыл бұрын
you can either look at it like it was a terrible misunderstanding and tragedy or, like tommy, a miraculous opportunity to further his career. Yes, it's not how he imagined it- "being taken seriously as an actor and filmmaker" and now he's a "parody" of himself. But he seized the opportunity to benefit from all this attention and he and greg have been able to carve out a comfortable lifestyle and career from it. Who's really losing out here? Tommy? Greg? Yea it's a digression from their original ambitions but it's far from terrible or a failure.

This has so much potential of being great. The audience ruins this and Tommy ruins it when he tries to be funny in every scene... Tommy is only funny when he doesn't know he's being funny. This is still watchable... but would be so much greater if the audience piped down a bit and Tommy just acted without trying to get a laugh.
