Nothing worse than a bike with a peaky power delivery on the road, a broad spread of power means relaxed riding but an ability to cover the ground with seemingly little effort!. I reckon just like the new Himalayan it's going to be a real hit. Well done Royal Enfield and thanks for the preview Hitchcocks, cheers.

@@johnrocker2986 The author of the video has ridden it if that's what you're referring to. Looking at your previous comments you've ridden it too I believe. All RE's built to a price, and we'll definitely need to factor in parts upgrades to improve them and that's where Hitchcocks comes in.

Good looking bike. Big Rock Moto did a really nice review of the new Himalayan and suggested it was the best entry level ADV out there. Over the KTM 390, BMW 310 and Honda 500X. Very competitive quality and price. This bike is really good looking, too. I wonder if it has the same or similar high adjustable seat as the Himalayan does.

Nice presentation but, as noted by another viewer, this is not a long stroke engine. It has an 84mm bore x 81.5mm stroke, which means it produces its power in an utterly different manner than traditional RE singles. I bought and rode the new Himalayan 452 but really didn't like the lack of bottom end torque. I sold it and went back to a 411 for green lanes and tracks. What the Sherpa engine is suited to, even in the Himalayan, is road riding, on full throttle. I would imagine that it's perfect, in those conditions, for the Guerilla. Setting off, on steep hills with a pillion will need a lot of revs, though.
@arjunarabindranath
@arjunarabindranath 16 күн бұрын
@@chriskay116 the road (singular) in our area is very steep and broken up. Having tried both, on the way up I'd take the old Himi and on the way down the new Himi :)

Triumphs do not have centerstands...along with most others , Honda included (CMX500 is actually 471cc). Ditch the EPA silliness. Ditch the "A2" silliness. Retune to OVER 100hp / liter with K&N air filter...providing just over 50hp total. Wah La ! A PERFECT motorcycle. I like the Blue & White.

Nice review, nice bike! Something that is not mentioned with regards to competition is that when you consider KTM or Triumph you get the "cheap" and "compromised" version of the brand... but with Royal Enfield that's it. That's the brand and that is really important for me. Connotations matter.

Have ridden the Gorilla strikes me as a young man's machine very very hard rear suspension but great handling generally but I still prefer the 350 classic more laid back in all respects.

@@johnrocker2986 That's not good news for me, I was hoping for substantially better rear suspension than the Hunter. I agree the 350 especially in the new colourways is the way to go but these are the wife's bikes and she doesn't like the classic look sadly.

Thank you for the video, Derek. One of the unknowns, as yet, is pannier placement. I assume that you / Hitchcock's will be (among) the first to address it. In the 411 Himalayan and "Scram" pairing, one could still fit RE panniers and top box. From your in-person view of both bikes, does it appear as though the same will be true for the 452 Himalayan / Guerrilla? If the bum-end is different, do you think RE will address the need for the roadster luggage? Thanks for reading. John in Colorado.
