@@gene5148 He was doing an interview with an entertainment reporter about this television comeback and was called by a producer to do a scene which interrupted his interview. Della spoke at length about this over the years as she felt that the producers of the show tended to pick bullshit fights with Redd and how they acted on the night he died was the final straw for her with that production.

when i heard about her passing i decided to watch all her scenes in this show because i grew up with her on glee and santana was (still is honestly) my favorite character of all time. naya always plays her parts in anything she’s in well but it’s incredibly impressive to see her acting in this show considering how young she was. i still have yet to watch the other scenes though tbh, i always only scroll to see her parts 😭

I believe if Redd wouldn't have died this show would have lasted at least 2 more seasons..it's good but they had too many characters for a 23 min show. Would have been better if it was Della and Redd only .The Royal Couple .

This show had solid ratings when Redd was around warranting a full season order very early in the season. It was anticipated this show could have made it to 120 episodes had he lived. The writing needed to be a little better but I imagined they probably would have brought on some new writers in second two had it happened. Remember A Different World started out slow until they made some changes. I also could have seen more scenes with Redd and the teenagers such as the son wanting to get a job or start a business because he wanted some money, the daughter going through a bad date and he gave fatherly advice.

This was real life for many of us with parents who split in this era where mom moved in with her parents. I was an only child but I saw a lot of our experiences in this show. My late grandparents, mom and I used to watch this show together and were saddened when Redd died as we knew the show was over. We saw the Jackee episode and was like, its over.

Anyone know the actual taping date of this episode? It was broadcast on November 20th, 1991. Red died on Oct. 11th and most shows are taped three weeks to a month before airing, so I have to imagine that this was taped a couple of days before his death.
