problem to me is much deeper, instead of pushing the offense forward, some of the players want to make their plays and do heroball, sometimes Gobert is gonna be angry, other times some other players, Rudy's moments i think get highlighted more because a lot of people have negative attitude towards him

The ‘04 Pistons used to always start the game by giving Ben Wallace some post up touches. They knew it wasn’t efficient offense, but it made him try harder on defense and was good for team morale. Gobert should be handled in a similar fashion; let him get some touches early on and don’t be disappointed when they lead to bad offense. Also, Randle should just be a stretch 5. Both Edwards and Randle are terrible passers, they put their heads down and dribble and then they see nothing but their driving lane and the basket. Yeah they can score but having two of them on floor together is destroying their teammates’ flow, especially with Conley out. One of the biggest nba mysteries to me is how Gobert is the most disrespected player from like every single corner. What did this guy do to deserve this? Other than the Covid thing years ago, I just don’t understand why this guy, multiple time defensive player of the year, gets so disrespected. I actually don’t understand. I never liked this trade. I’m not a believer in Randle. Yea Minnesota had to make the trade for money reason, but they screwed up a good thing they had going on. And for THAT REASON so did the Knicks. This trade was a huge lose-lose.

Do you think the nba players just disrespect him cause they feel like it? No. It’s because he’s not good. Just because you think he might be good or people who “watch” the nba think he’s dpoty doesn’t mean the nba players think he is. And they obviously know more about basketball and watch a ton more film than anyone in the comments. Where there is smoke there is fire.

Gobert is not a great offensive player, everyone knows this. But for every player on his team to just ignore him when he's put himself in the perfect position, wide open at the rim, obviously takes a toll on him. Imagine doing everything you can for a team, anchoring a great defense, getting flamed by the media and part of the fans because they don't understand your game, and then even your teammates clearly don't respect you. Props to Rudy for staying professional. I don't know many people who would be able to take what's thrown at him. Might explain some of his "tantrums" as well.

Here’s my issue. I think people need to understand there is more to receiving a pass from someone. The placement of the pass matters. He’s a 7 footer. Why are most of these passes being thrown to him below the waist? Put it where he can catch it and go straight up. With that being said, he does need to work on freeing up a bit more space when there is dribble penetration and his catching ability. So, both of these issues contribute to his inability to catch passes. Also, where are the lobs?

@TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 4 минут бұрын
i dont think its weird. its more common sense. you cant have 2 #1s on a team, 2 ball dominant/high usage players. if you do, one of them better be playing off the bench or have the selfless/team mindset (like the Js in boston). Randle doesnt have the talent/skill level of a #1 but thinks like a #1. this is what counts here. he thinks that he is. most teams around the league, unless its a tanking team, have clearly established #1s. that's why he doesnt fit. what's more valuable around the league are #2s who can scale up/down performance, elite 3ND role players or off-ball shooters. Randle is neither of these. Randle basically has to go to a team where he's the best player/gets the ball. or play with a #1 who's more of a passer (like how siakam fits with hali). its not going to work in minny because Ant is the #1 and hes not the passer others are.

He repeatedly forced shots and made terrible plays. Gobert was basically useless in this game.He moved like he had a stiff back. He also played liked he doesn't want to be there and was basically ignored by the entire team in the shoot around before the game and throughout the game. The Timberwolves played like shyt and lost. The entire game was sloppy. Edward's also played like he didn't want to be there. He scored 20+ but could have had 30+ if he actually played like he normally does. The Gobert hate is real. There’s a reason fans don’t vote for Defensive Player of the Year. He’s an absolute beast when he’s on your team. Does the dirty work without complaining and is a straight-up deterrent just by being in the paint. Something you don’t see in the stats. But casual fans will keep saying he’s a bad defender. Offensively, yeah, no doubt, he doesn’t have the best hands... Maybe even really bad hands. But that doesn’t stop him from having one of the best field goal percentages in the league near the rim. When your big man has a mismatch under the basket, you gotta feed him.

Feels like Randle would prefer Gobert to stand off of the basket, opening a lane for him to get inside and either score or draw Gobert's defender onto him so he can dump it off onto Gobert for an easy basket... if Gobert can hold onto the ball 😂 Which is evidenced by the later clips where Randle feeds Gobert a couple of times for baskets. Not sure why Gobert's teammates aren't passing him the ball when he's got position and a mismatch but I guess they can't have much faith in his post-up game if that's the case 🤷🏻‍♂ Either way, Gobert's reaction was childish IMHO. I can understand why he got frustrated but that 3-second violation with the scores tied and under 5 minutes to go... followed by the hip check that he did on Scottie Barnes the next possession that led to free throws, may very well have cost them the game.

@@user-dh7dj3yw1b that’s my point though, I think they just don’t trust his post up game for whatever reason… not excusing what his teammates did or saying they were right to refuse to pass the ball, but the scores were tied when Gobert did what he did and put them behind so his reactions were not only unnecessary but also more glaring. You might be right, if they had passed the ball to him all those times he could have scored a ton - or he could have fumbled and lost the ball on the passes like he did a couple of times in the video above. We’ll never know that, cos it did not happen. What we do know is that he reacted poorly to not getting the ball and that put them behind.

Remember Randles first two years in New York? So much bad mojo fans turned on him. I like his offensive versatility but his body language when he doesn't get his way is always terrible. If he could ever overcome that and put the same energy into defense he would be awesome. I put these issues on him.

thats why they will not able to win chip for sure, even how unreliable sometimes giving gobert the ball but you still have to trust him if you need him to be a threat if he miss that is the times you dont let him get the ball but you should also consider give him the best pass or position to make him effective.

1. Randle has always been a selfish player who thinks he should be the first option on every team. The Knicks traded him because they knew he would have problems co-existing with Brunson. 2. Gobert has got hands of stone which is why players don't like passing to him.

Terrible pass going to the paint cause at the first place they never thought of passing it to him, so they always think twice even if it's a wide open shot or a mismatch, can be easily read by the defense. Ant needs to be more of a team player, Randle could be a lost cause already.

I’ll continue to ask this question. What the fuck does Rudy work on in the off-season? He has been in the league for a long damn time and hasn’t added anything to his game, specifically offensively… he just plays soft.

I think it's cause they don't trust him to catch the ball if they throw it to him tbh. Can't blame Gobert for that though. You gotta be able to trust one of the highest paid players on the team or you're never gonna win

Gobert has no hands offensively, he is clumsy with the ball, he needs to work on that or he will always be a bad offensive player. Look some of Wemby and Curry workouts with small balls to work on their reflexes... Rudy needs that.

Remember when Randle used to tell stories about Kobe trashing the entire locker room but him excluded? Remember his time in the Pelicans where he hogged the ball so his points were up but the team was down? Remember when Knicks used to suck until he got injured? Rudy is unlikeable but Randle is a diva.

Sure the pass was low but dude is an NBA player. Have better hands than that. Y’all can catch no look passes no problem but one that’s a little low is a problem? Gobert was wide open in a couple of these situations for sure and the obsession in the NBA with the 3 pointer doesn’t help and only adds to the reasons he wasn’t passed to. Let’s also be real though, Rudy is not really an offensive weapon or someone you want handling the ball that often. Yes these moments he probably should have gotten the ball for what looked like easy points however he’s not as sure of a bucket as other centers in the league or other players on our team either. So I see both sides.

So we have a kobe, a shaq, and a Carmelo Anthony together😂😂. It's make or break. They be a fearsome force if they ever do actually work things out. They just need a Jordan or a Phil to keep them in check. Which they don't.
