Brenda the plant you showed us is sold in the US as an “Air Fern”! Here’s a question; while you were walking through Pelenque we could see water catchment basins. Could you have swum in them or was it prohibited?

Hi Harold! Unfortunately, swimming was prohibited. The water catchment pools are part of what's called the Queen's Bath, and as the name imply's, it was for the Queen's bathing. There was a system in place for making steam baths, a sewer system, and pressurized water in the palaces. Pretty impressive for a couple of thousand years ago!
