i wish it was a hospital, we need a 1,5 - 2 baseplate 4 story hospital. wanted one for years and years
@Angry_Squirrel555Ай бұрын
Then why don't you build one? That's kind of the spirit of LEGO.
@Gzilla313Ай бұрын
I don’t have any of the modulars, but a hospital makes so much sense. They’ve already done police and fire stations, so a hospital completes the first responder group.

The Modular line is one of my favorite themes and yes, it would be awesome to see more global diversity in the buildings. I also think we could use 2 smaller modular sets annually: a 16x32 set. If they'd do that, we could see more variation in styles and types of buildings.
@Mateo-et3wlАй бұрын
Global diversity, like an african hut or an aztec pyramid?

@jeffc486220 күн бұрын
@@sebces2576 No doubt there's bound to be some that are happy with the decision, but we already have a couple of houses, and several apartments with other builds.

They did add a townhouse to the "bookshop" set without mentioning the townhouse in the title. Hopefully we see a park, car wash or a roof top something-or-other with the set simply called "residential townhouse." I think it would be cool for them to add a swimming pool to the back yard OR, even better, a public pool for the community.
@Libertaro-i2uАй бұрын
Though a pool in the rear yard of a Lego Modular townhouse would probably look a bit out of place since architecturally, the styles of the buildings are based on the Victorian and Edwardian towns of North America's continental climatic zone (latitudes between North Carolina and Nova Scotia) where the outdoor swimming season is relatively short.

A lot of the modular's cram all the living spaces ( bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room) into one or two small rooms. I'd love to see a town home with full bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, etc.
@Libertaro-i2uАй бұрын
And especially if it's a three story building like Lego Modulars typically are, the house would have room for two to four bedrooms and baths, in addition to a cavernous living/grand room with open kitchen.

Arcades as of right now, are anachronistic. It was a pretty big deal when they pushed the clock forwards the first time, to make the modulars set in the 50s, as opposed to the original style which was very turn of the century.

Hey mate, great video. I have an idea/solution for your modular space dilemma. Similar to myself, have you thought of running a nice presentable plank of timber across the top of your two shelves behind you? I have my Lego street like this with roads and all and it looks fantastic! They'll be up high and out of the way, and of course in view for your viewers with a slight adjustment of the camera panned up a little. You could even start without the plank and have two separate sections of modulars across the top of each shelf. I understand you have some big and beautiful builds on display up there which would need some rearranging. I think it's time you start your modular backlog 😅 Just a suggestion Love your content 👊

There has been one corner for every 3 years, as you can see below; 2007 (Cafe Corner): Corner 2008 (Green Grocer): Inline 2009 (Fire Brigade): Inline 2010 (Grand Emporium): Corner 2011 (Pet Shop): Inline 2012 (Town Hall): Inline 2013 (Palace Cinema): Corner 2014 (Parisian Restaurant): Inline 2015 (Detective's Office): Inline 2016 (Brick Bank): Corner 2017 (Assembly Square): Inline 2018 (Downtown Diner): Inline 2019 (Corner Garage): Corner 2020 (Book Shop): Inline 2021 (Police Station): Inline 2022 (Boutique Hotel): Corner? 2023 (Jazz Club): Inline 2024 (Natural History Museum): Inline

I don't think that they should introduce cultural varity in modular building series. They have a theme going and they were faithful to the classical European theme so far. However, they can start a new line of series, like scenes around the world, that would be interesting.

We’ve seen townhouse as “add-on” in pet shop and book store. Both are smaller sets, and I’d be disappointed if the new modular is really just townhouse without any business or service unit because that limits the interaction among mini figures. I hope, maybe, there is at least a small coffee shop and they did not mention it to avoid confusion with Cafe corner. Also the new set comes with many pieces so maybe there is a car or something.

The designer to the daily bugle (the first modullar compatable marvel building) went on record as saying that the reason the pin holes on that set don't match up perfectly with other modelers is that being compatible was not part of the design remit, so no one double checked it. He added it as an extra/joke, and part of the joke was explicitly the fact that a modern glassy sky scrapper clashes with the modular ascetic. The set is also explicitly designed to easily remove the marvel elements so you can just have a skyscraper (there is a broken wall because the green goblin is grashing through, but the set has all the pieces to repair it, for example).

I think it would be cool if it included two houses. One New York style brownstone, and a more colorful one for contrast. If it's just one house, I'd prefer a brownstone. I think the look of a brown and grey building, with maybe some green ivy and foliage growing on it would be cool. Also, as for the contrast between the old buildings of the Creator Expert modulars and the modern buildings of the Marvel modulars, I don't really mind. Because real life cities often have both old and modern buildings coexisting.
