History should be learned from primary sources, and peer-reviewed, fact-checked academic publications whenever possible. Most are too lazy nowadays to crack an actual textbook or access an unbiased scholarly publication (you may have to go some decades back to find such a thing) and read, or go inside a big building with lots of books inside it, called a "library." It can be quite risky to learn your history by watching KZbin, reading Wikipedia, or Googling. Some history presented in these places is accurate, but some purposely skews facts, in order to influence thinking. Using online forums to influence opinions with inaccurate historical facts, is notoriously easy. After all, if the portrayal of a historical event is the only one the viewer has ever seen, then it would likely be accepted as gospel. The viewers have nothing else to go by. There is much LESS risk in studying legitimate primary sources for historical accounts, and reading reputable reference texts. Unfortunately, the planet now has an entire generation, many of whom have learned virtually all of their history on google or youtube, and who are absolutely certain of the accuracy of that history. Ten years ago I made the same observations on KZbin and made the comment that, because of the rampant ignorance of history in our country, we are in for big trouble in the future. We have arrived at the future.

Actually, only time, when Stalin REALLY had all power, and he was an dictator in the classic term of this word - is the WWII (or Great Patriotic War), when he was High Commander of Red Army. All other time he was just a First Secretar of Communist Party. He never maked any decision by only his own will, as dictator does. He just signed protocols, where all Politburo and High Council decided, what to do. Ironic, but in the modern "democratic" Russia president actually CAN make orders just with his own sign without conversation with anybody, and this order have highest power as law.

While I follow their diagnosis to identify the evils and problems of my society but I never follow their disastrous medications which have led to death and agony for millions. For me, history and these big leaders and their ideology are all about learning to identify the problems and create a will to fight but not on their terms but in a democratic way and utilising our economic benefits. It won't. The peaceful part of the population is exactly that: peaceful. We won't start civil war and fight our more warlike compatriots to death to force our values on them. We have already undergone that as described in this video; the results were atrocious. "One won't be loved by force", as the saying goes. We want peace exactly because we value human life and our loved ones' safety. Who needs freedom and democracy being dead or stripped of all held dear?

So which revolution racked the city with fighting and resistance? The February or October Revolution?
@StraightEdgeSieghart3 жыл бұрын
I believed both revolutions had it, the October revolution had more of it since they're in state of civil war.

It is said that Rasputin warned them against war. Perhaps more than most he was aware of the weakness and rot at the heart of the Czarist system.

@@polarvortex3294 true, but they ended up with a worse system.
@polarvortex32944 жыл бұрын
@@jacobstaten2366 You are of course very right. Communism, as it's called, is worse in the long run, because hard work and creative risk taking are not rewarded -- and once power is concentrated in the hands of a few (to ensure "fair" distribution), it is inevitable that this power will be abused to keep those in control in charge for as long as possible. It can, and indeed has, resulted in mountains of murdered victims, all the while promising to improve things. Yet, in the short run, communism is great when it comes to organizing the efforts of the people toward some simple goal. It gets people excited and teaches them to obey. It teaches people to suppress their individual feelings and even their survival instinct. Thus it is good for war, at least. And I think that is why it managed to spread, and why in the end feeble Czar Nicholas proved to be helpless against it. Ultimately, I'm very fond of the Romanovs. There was a rot in the palace, I believe, but many Russians still loved the dynasty and what it stood for. And, like you, I think the war helped finish them off. What do you think would have happened to them if they'd survived the war, or stayed at peace? What would their future have been?
