I'm 75 years old and after watching you guys riffling through people's stuff after they are dead and gone, I have been inspired to throw away my old stuff and plan which of my items I will allow to remain to be discovered by my family, or whoever has to go through my things, after I cross over River Jordan! Great explore.

The Willy warmer/ballerina shoe is actually something my grandmother had in her house, they were for keeping your bandage or plaster clean if you’d hurt your fingers or thumb, the ribbon tied round your wrist. The back scratcher/fork on the wall in the living room was a toasting fork, they were used on coal fires to toast bread. My grandma had one of those too.

The shell spoons are from a set of desert spoons, there would have been a large shell spoon for serving and six for the table, these were used for fruit salad and ice cream and most received them as a wedding presents back in the day. The buttons kept in an old buisuit or Quality Street tin were a standard in every household, I still have one and often ladies put the odd old coin or ring even silver thimbles in there so hense it being tipped out. The first room was a pantry/ laundry, then into the kitchen. The room with the dining chairs against the wall would have been the dining room minus the dining table. The thickness if the walls at the windows says this is a solid country house built very well back in time long before the main road was added. It would have been a lovely home at one point but sadly never kept up to scratch. Thank you Adam. By the way Adam scotch glasses are round at the top but often square based with straight up sides to allow the scotch to be drunk as it should be flavour enhanced. 💕🇦🇺

The tennis racket frame is to keep the tennis racket from warping. You're suppose to screw it back on after every game. The tight laces in weather changes can cause the wood frame to warm if it is not held in the frame.

your enthusiasm is infectious! I love how you honor those who lived in these homes, putting yourself in their day-to-day life and giving them dignity after they've gone. You don't see the homes for the way they look now but try to see how it once was!

Albert Tatlock is a fictional character on the British television soap opera Coronation Street. Albert was played by actor Jack Howarth from 1960 to 1984. The character became something of a cultural icon, so much that grumpy old men were sometimes nicknamed "Albert Tatlock". Wikipedia

The old free-standing kitchen units are a bit of a thing now, I see them in a lot of your videos and I think it's a shame they don't get salvaged and up-cycled, decent furniture just rotting away.

Adam, the fork on the wall is a toasting fork, slice of bread on fork, hold in front of fire , beautiful with loads butter! Tennis press is to keep wood frame flat and protected. Glasses with characters on are early stars from Corrie.
