Ally with the most SP support passives aren't actually random anymore. It prioritizes the order you selected them in team, so Hong's support passive is really consistent so you just need to slot ish or gregor at first and second slot and burn count will flood in as long as you maintain one of them at 45 sp This also makes something like Burn Deluge/Burst or somethin pretty strong, so I just hope they do uncap it. Its not like its a game limitation to cap it

Stigma Workshop themselves would be such a fun faction to see in Limbus... Workshop stuff and Burn stuff needs much more representation in Limbus, and Stigma is one of the most frequently reoccurring Workshop with stuff like supplying Dawn's Office with their weaponry and having a similar ignition device to the one used by Liu Association, as well as providing one of Ezra's more commonly used weapons. They could very easily have their own burn-adjacent debuff they inflict, given how their weaponry leaves behind intricate burn marks, being stigma. There's so much potential and it's just something I really hope to see.

One idea I have that would make for some more interesting status IDs (that'd benefit burn the most) are status-fueling IDs. What I'm thinking is IDs that apply one status type, but apply that status exponentially better against enemies affected a lot by another status type. For example, let's take an ID that has a 4 coin skill, it will apply one Rupture potency each coin, however if the target has 10+ Burn pot then it will apply +1 Rupture per coin, and if the target has 5+ burn count, then it will apply +1 Rupture count per coin. Doing split status teams usually ends up with a lot of status but lackluster damage from them, however, with IDs that apply a ton of another type of status when being fueled by large amounts of another status it will make multi status teams way more viable. And since burn is so easy to build up and maintain it will have the easiest time to activate the requites on skills for these status-fueled IDs, making burn a central hub that can pull off lots of different status.

I feel like a burn burst should do more than just potency amount of damage, but also inflict the same amount of potency or count onto adjacent enemies (especially since a burst of burn would basically just be an explosion.) There's always the chance of PM making burn just a metamorphic status like it is for 9:2 Faust but that isn't really a burn effect, it basically just functions like ch*rge at that point, just on the enemy instead. I also don't think (or want) PM will start doing self burn IDs unless they function more similarly to Shi IDs and self burn is just the method of lowering health, which would be pretty cool imo. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot of interesting stuff you can do with burn on its own, just by virtue of it being the simplest status

I remember having this idea for Liu Sang, as seen in Hong Liu's pre-uptie art, having "[On Hit] If target has X Burn, inflict Attack Power Down/Plus Coin Drop" or something to that effect to give Burn teams a debuffer to assist with setting up risky-ish clashes. In my head he also used Praying Mantis style martial arts and looked so rad.

I think a burn team lacks the amount of gloom one needs to spam Land of Illusion. Costing 5 gloom per use is a lot, and the only consistent bringer of it is Nclair. Hong Liu has it on skill 3, for a total of 4 gloom skills on the burn team.

I love Burn as a status effect and Liu as association (i like their colors, their clothing, "WHY DOES THE COMMON FIRE HAVE SO MUCH POWER") etc. And the fact that we have only 4 of the Liu ids is kinda sad. HOWEVER, there is a bigger meme than just this. May i remind you, who is the very first enemy in RR2? And why after the first battle half of my sinners ended up dead despite the fact that Doll haven't landed even a single hit on me? I consider this cruel and funny at the same time. Anyways, one of the solutions that i want to see is described below: Max count - 10. Max potency - 99. At the end of the turn, divide potency and count by 2 and deal damage, counted as (Consumed burn potency * consumed burn count), so if you have 30 burn and 6 count, the enemy will take 90 wrath damage at the end of the turn, leaving 15 potency and 3 count. Considering that you can't sustain really big numbers of burn per turn for now, the damage will still be considerable, but not too great, and coin conditions for Liu IDs will be easy to maintain. Of course, this needs to be balanced, but at least the average damage will be more than capped now in the game

"Suddenly, One Day" Have a 3 in 5 chance of dealing 6/10 damage, a 1 in 5 chance to just reduce equivalent SP, and a 1 in 5 chance to do nothing, unless somebody is also going to hit the target with tremor count. Uptie IV should have also added the relevant status count, so you get a chance to actually do something.

There are some pretty interesting things they can do with burn if they try. A few random ideas I had: Inflict debuffs on enemies with a certain amount of burn (like 9:2 Faust but on an ID) Transferring burn between enemies/abnormality parts (fire quite famously spreads) Self-burn would encourage a speed run play style as you try to defeat the enemy amidst your dwindling health. Remove burn from enemies to make sinner attacks stronger (in other words, anti-charge)

We know Yi Sang and Faust are in Liu-verse so it's only a matter of time before we get them in the game. And we absolutely NEED a Burn-based Ryoshu; not only does she have 2 Burn-EGOs it's her whole motif! Or at least a good deal of her motif surrounding death and destruction. There was an EXTREMELY obscure change on October 19th patch that changed the order in which skill/passive effects activate if multiple characters fit the condition - it now depends on the order you choose the characters in. So if you choose Ishmael first and the entire team has 45 sanity (everyone is "1 ally with highest SP"), Ishmael will ALWAYS inflict more burn count.

TLDR: Maintaining positive counts of rupture or sinking or bleed to build any meaningful amount of potency will require you to spam egos and dedicating your whole team onto maintaining those counts. Burn is the only dmg debuff maintainable by fielding only 1 burn ID. Rupture: It takes a whole guide and a team designed for rupture counts to stack rupture... These IDs arent the worse, but they don't have the best clash and stats neither... Bleed: Bleed is similar, since just the boss clashing will cause counts to drop, and if they win or draws a clash, they will use even more bleed counts.. This archtype also lacks egos to power its counts. I can tell you off the bat that the ID with most bleed counts is N_faust and R Salt. N_faust avges around 4 counts per skill while R Saltonly avgs around 2 counts per skill... with Kuro Ryoshu at 3rd place of 1.5 counts/skill A boss will probably use anywhere from 6 - 18 counts of bleed per turn depending on how many coins he feels like using. The best way to circumvent this problem is focus all the bleed into one body parts.. but at the end of the day will still require several IDs to maintain the counts... I have to say, while salt is a good tank, both N_Faulst and Kuro_Ryoshu dont have very impressive clash, and you gonna need more of that to keep that count up.... and every turn your N_faust spend using fliud sac is another turn she couldn't meet her quota. GL with solving the problem of clashing boss skills... Sinking: I have looked into making a sink team and I can tell you there isn't enough good IDs to maintain counts properly.. Luckily rimshank exists and you will need to spam Rime shank on fights that you want to build sink counts on. Most sink IDs are count negative on avg... (count neg is when a char's skill has more coins than counts they inflict on avg, resulting in them draining counts instead of building them for counts that goes away on hit) Burn: Burn is the only debuff that you can casually stack and raise the potency You really just need 2 IDs with burn to maintain a burn stack that you can build to 99 potency, and Liu_honglu support and Liu_Ishmael can fulfill those roles while being high dmg/clash characters themselves without being a big disruption to team composition. Worse case, have a Liu_honglu support tag along can solve the count problem Conclusion Its easy to say "Oh theoretically this is op with 99 Potency & Stacks", But it may be difficult building bleed/rupture/sink stack. You may have to resort to suboptimal IDs and spam egos to keep the counts going. Regardless, Burn will still have the niche of being a dmg debuff that can be easily stacked without needing to dedicate an entire team for them, and most burn ego gifts in Mirror Dungeons makes maxing burn potency very quickly and easily. At the end of the day, I'm not saying "Don't make video", I'm saying "Make them responsibly" . Afterall, many people looks up to you and take your words like its the bible

after watching the videos and thinking for a lil, i got some ideas for burn: -uncap burn (duh), increase the burn potency application on most ids so we can reach big numbers faster, and pm REALLY needs to lean into the spread burn gimmick more liu meursault has. uncapping burn can actually make it pretty unique compared to other status effects. and i think burn shouldnt have "average" potency numbers. burn is wholly unique from your sinkings and tremors and what not, burn can only activate ONCE a turn, so you have to make it count. so the potency and possibly count numbers should reflect that. burn potency application should be increased across the board so that you can reach high numbers quicker in the place of where other status effects would activate multiple times. spreading burn should also be something burn ids lean into more, and right now, its just not enough. this would make it more fun, have an edge over other statuses in human fights and also its the lore reason why liu uses fire as the crowd control association!!!! -now my unique ideas: ignition and exploding -ignition: this status effect, when attacked, multiplies burn potency the target at the start of the skill by 1.1 x (counts of ignition), then at turn end, removes all counts of ignitions ASWELL as counts of burn on target equal to amount of ignition removed (max of 10). skills of ids who apply ignition would likely only be able to apply ignition via wrath or lust resonance as one of the main prides of burn is its ability to be easily to maintained. so giving the player control of when to use things that consume burn count is important. -exploding: -this status effect: on death, this unit with this status effect will spread burn and burn count the unit had possessed evenly onto units on that units side that are adjacent in speed values. not much there, just burnin. -now my kinda out there idea, in the city many goofy gaffer things get invented there, and many silly people wield them, so, why not have blue flames? blue flames would prolly be apart of some special id roster somewhere in the far future. blue flames status effect: skills of ids will convert amount of burn status effects stated in the skill into blue flames. blue flames deal potency x2 dmg at the end of the turn, however can only get count and potency from a targets burn, so if target has less burn than converted by the skill, only that amount will be the amount of blue flame applied onto the target. just another thing that i think would be cool. -burn also doesnt feel quite good, poise has beeg funny yellow number, rupture has funny big number each hit, and tremor has funny burst sfx, so we need to make burn special in the regard. have enemies with burn have some transparent (or not) fire effect on or behind them that scales in size with burn potency. haw haw funny burn -ideas for a self burn architype: esgoo before you come after me, please hear me out... so, the idea: self burn ids would use POTENCY as the self burn, gaining and spending it, count will only be there to MAINTAIN it. as if count reaches 0, welp, you gotta start over with your potency while having already damaged hp. they would also preferably have tank health and 2 stagger thresholds and maaaaayyyybe some healing. it aint gonna be able to tank while its actively burning, and it would be really fun to try and see how you would use it in long form events like dungeons and railways. they may also have a counter which would be better than average, but also instantly spend if not all, a whole bunch of burn as an emergency burn stopper. very cool idea would be hella fun to play ngl! anyways, thoughts on the video: very nice esgoo curse domestication and weaponization! overall good video covering it. but on the meursault passive topic, i think that passive isnt meant to be purposefully activated, instead, i believe its more of a nice extra effect if you lose a clash so you still inflict burn. and on the ego part, it may be harder to implement ids and units that make sense that play with FIRE, while magical monster creatures leaves more room to be themed around fire, naturally leading to more burn egos over ids. though no lie yi sang and faust is unforgivable... also no idea why bleed doesnt have a bunch of ego too. yea thats about it

Bleed is already really strong and is arguably the 2nd strongest comp in current mirror dungeon behind poise

about EGO, to be fair Heathcliff mentions how he feels when using EGO in combat and complains about the enemies just casually wielding EGO gear
