in terms of performance, is it better to have 1 mesh with all those planks in a 3d program then import to ue. or better the way you did it by using same object over and over in ue? very nice content you're sharing here, thank you.

For the drawcall count it's better to have less meshes in the scene. But, if you prefer to create your prefabs inside unreal engine, you can just make the same as he did inside unreal and then just merge it in one mesh (right click - merge actors). Then it's just the same as importing as one mesh from your modeling software, I hope it helps! :)

Thanks for tutorial! Just got one question if you don't mind. The external wooden parts at 32:17 are overlapping and it looks kinda odd. Is it possible to fix this issue without "hiding" the overlapping parts of the structure with other wooden parts?

its called Z fighting, you just need to offset it slightly or reduce the length of the ceiling/walls so the faces ending at the correct length. he covers it up so im not sure if that causes perfromance issues when not visible.

Where do I can find Pv udk addon/plugin? or is it outdated?

It is outdated, Maya has "Game Exporter" in-built that does the same thing (under "File") you can set it up to move the selected objects to the center of the world and export with prefix plus a load of other options - once you have set it up, you can save the settings.
