Alan Moore, who created John Constantine, pronounced it with the Tine, like a fork has tines. Americans pronounced it Teen. So the original pronunciation is the one in this show. Also, Johanna Constantine is a Neil Gaiman creation from The Sandman comics who appeared in the early 18th century in a flashback, but it was John in the present day that Dream dealt with.

The sad part is Dream can't take Caine or Abel because he didn't create them. They became residents of the Dreaming a long time ago.

Cain and Abel actually came to the Dreaming - IMO their story was so universal, they immigrated right to the Dreaming, after a set of circumstances, I'd imagine. They couldn't offer their life to Morpheus to reenergize him, because they weren't made of dreamstuff. And yes, it's Constantyne, as they say, not Constanteen, as we Americans say it. Just a heads up for the future. Johanna was created for Sandman, so legally she can be used here without all the legalities to jump through for John.

John Dee is Dr. Destiny, who, while dream was captured, used the dream stone to torture the Justice League. Too bad DC doesn’t have their sht together like marvel. We’d have epic crossovers. *Side note, the original writer for Constantine wrote the name as ‘TINE, not ‘TEEN. Thanks for this reaction! Can’t wait for the rest 🥰
