Yeah nobody was really the asshole, maybe mildly disfunctional for how they are arguing over something so silly but he clearly has invested his soul into being right in this argument. Given he has property in the bay area I'm sure this guy is an engineer and so his way of thinking and listing all the evidence he has makes sense. It also makes sense why he has way too much time to try and convince strangers to ratio his wife. If it's his wife's car who cares if she dings it up let her park it in the garage some nights clearly she just wants the respect.

I gotta say i kinda fell for the big number means long walk. Mostly because I'm not out here constantly measuring how far away things are in feet. We use miles for travel distance. According to what i looked up its about the wingspan of a commercial airliner. Its just long enough to be inconvenient when waking up in the morning, but not nearly long enough to be as troublesome as some made it out to be. I also forgot alleyways are a thing as the concept is foreign to my suburban brain. Now that i think about it, it probably wouldnt be much longer than a child's trek to the nearest bus stop.
@scragar
@scragar 7 ай бұрын
Someone else said it's about 60m, which is literally such a small distance it's not worth arguing about. When I was in primary school I had to walk ~400m there and back every day. When I went to high school it was over a km walk away. As an adult I walk about 900m to the train station 6 days a week to get to work. Arguing over 60m feels like the sort of stupid arguments over leaving the toilet seat up or similar. The effort spent arguing vastly excedes the effort of just living with the situation as is.
@PandaFan2443

I don't know distances either. For meters, I just think about how far things are in video games when they measure it in meters and how fast the number goes down as you're walking towards it, then imagine what that would look like in real life. That's the only practical experience I have with needing to know how far things are numerically.

It took me a while to realize in this video that OP wasn't actually the crazy thing being put on display but all the insane comments all the other Redditors made in regards to a post which, at the time of viewing after all the edits at least, didn't seem even slightly egregious. It seems to me what happened here is he posted this, Redditors hive-mind triggered onto him because of something in the post, started lambasting him, and the only weird part to me is he felt compelled for some reason to defend himself. I can only imagine the reason he was so vehemently replying, when the entire point of the sub is to let _Redditors_ of all "people" determine who's in the wrong in a scenario, is that 1. he's a Redditor himself and 2. he was just attacked so hard that something struck a chord and his defenses went into overdrive and he couldn't help but lose himself in it. What's the issue??? He needs to charge his car and wants to protect the nicer car (fair). She doesn't need to do either so park it on the street sounds good, no? Why are people saying he's the AH, I think it's pretty obvious nobody is in the wrong and they're just doing the best with what they got.

Assuming mornings work like they do here shes going to have to de-frost her car every time in the winter because of the time and being outside. By 8am he may not have the same issue. My solution would be to split it. Swap places each month or by season.

He is the asshole for pretty much every reason other than using the garage for a more valuable vehicle. The sacrifice if really small for the wife in this situation, 200ft is just not so crazy.

literally my only point of disagreement here is on the driveway length. it's about 64.5 meters, not 70. 1m~=3.1ft and 200/31 ~=64.5 that sounds like a small difference for people who don't get metric ("it's only 15 units!" or w/e) but that's a difference of nearly 16 feet. That's all! No other notes here! Just a very quick conversion thing :)

Do people not have any sense of spacial awareness? 200 ft is not far at all. A normal human walks multiple thousands of steps a day. 200 ft is not long at all…
