4-5 days is nothing you should be able to solo parent. My partner had a business trip and I solo parented for 4 days, you just deal with it as long as the kid takes bottles it’s not an issue.

So many red flags here of why having this child was a bad idea. 1. "Having a child cus parents want a grandchild" is not a good reason to have a child 2. Bloke isn't ready to settle down, may not want the child 3. Chick has to convince the Bloke that it's fine cus we could just give it to the grandparents, Bloke is dumb enough to think that could work 4. Chick doesn't trust Bloke, even tho he's being a good father she ahead of time said to him that things have changed and he won't be able to travel. Understandibly very scared of being alone and thinks that husband will one day go off and never stop traveling. 5. Breaking a console is some 12yr old shit that gets you clowned on for the rest of your life. But like 4-5 days for a close friends wedding isn’t that bad. Idk maybe squeeze it down to a 3 day trip and have your parents help you out. 8month olds scream a lot but otherwise aren’t that bad. And then whenever he wants to go somewhere just remind him about the wedding and you should be good for another year where after that point you can pretty comfortably leave the kid with parents along for a few days without worry.

For the 2nd story, I think they're Aussie maybe? Cocktails here are $18+ each (mostly due to liquor tax) and $80 increase in electricity is... small.
