Here's the thing. The Yugas have man version of describing. This what you present is the astronomical Yuga but there is also a chronological Yuga cycle which lasts 25960 years which describes historical events even better. The Mahabharata took place 5000 BC, the Ramayana was 14000 BC. There is so much precious information presented by man named Nilesh Oak. He's very famous.

Most people like the bakthi movement takes astronomical Yugas and still think we are Kali Yuga, but many modern scientists and Kriya Yogis say we are currently in Dwapara Yuga and they consider the chronological Yugas where a cycle lasts for 25k years. Nilesh Oak has studied this topic immensely and also talked about why chaitanya was misunderstood and misinterpreted the older scriptures.

@@RadhaMohanonutube The whole Jugas Cycle lasts 26.000, as it's closely correlated to the earth's axis wobble (called Procession of the equinoxes). This cycle is part of the bigger one which lasts 26 million years, called Manuantara or - The Day And Night Of Brahma. But I;m sure you're already know it. ;) What you refer to as a "traditional interpretation" is an result of the interpretation that hes been slightly corrupted around V century. By ignorance or intentionally? We can only guess.

Millions of years ago no humans existed , Thousands of years ago humans did existed. I believe yuga cycle is in thousands of years and not millions of years.
