I hardly see the fairness in this. They should have interviewed Sudanese people from each side to hear their perspectives and grievances about why they are really fighting. There are many stories suggesting that the conflict might be due to oil resources, while others claim it is because of ethnic and religious divisions. Despite this, I appreciate Al Jazeera for highlighting this civil war, which many people seem to be unaware of.

It's simpler than all of that....when Bashir was in power, the RSF received payment through the National Treasury, and the the General was payed through the Department of Defense...the problem started because the General became in charge of both institutions as head of state and asked the RSF to become part of the National Armed Forces as a way of solving the payment problems....but there's also the Libyan RSF...but altogether the issue was payment between the DoD or National Treasury....over the course of the years news and World leaders have put new spins on the issue

I don't understand why the characterisation of it being a war between two generals is problematic. That's fundamentally what it is, and for me that framing only emphasises that this is not a war that was caused by wider social factors like religion, ethnicity, or marginalisation, as civil wars so often are. It is a war between two generals that has taken an international characteristic because of the actions of those two generals, and the inevitable resource greed. And it has usurped the civil action groups stuck in the middle, who want both of these factions to pack up and take their war somewhere else.

It's not surprising to see this civil war which was anticipated to last a few days or weeks has gone into it's second year with no attempt or sign of a cease-fire. When the East African Community attempted to hold peace talks, they surprisingly showed their favourite side of the two factions and that was not the leader in power but rather the RSF boss, which angered the incumbent Sudanese leader who protested accusing the East African nations of double standards. I agree with him. This war has lasted longer than expected simply because the rest of the world prefers the RSF over the Sudanese Armed Forces. It's so disgusting to see the pretense of the so-called UN and their egocentric dominant funders who pretend to be concerned about the humanitarian crisis around the world.
