@@citeltheof I can't wait to start solo adventuring. I'm taking in everything I am learning from this channel and other channels, and will hopefully start my first adventure tomorrow 😁 If I were you, I'd start compiling my own tables, as I get used to how the existing ones work (while playing a few fantasy ones), and then start on my own solo adventures in the area (super hero, sci fi, western. etc) that I am interested in. Or play the SciFi ones now, and build up your resourses as you go. Or a mix of both! Ooh, actually, I love westerns. I think I will do that for the Wild West 😁

@@citeltheof You can use most of the things he uses to do super heroes. Just add the savage worlds superhero companion, nearly everything he uses is genre neutral.

The voice for Edbert is epic! I hope he survives the upcoming dungeon. Fantastic episode! This has given me a lot to think about with how to better handle scene breaks as well as using the random event to start a new scene if I'm not exactly sure where to go next. Excellent as always. I'm six scenes into my own solo campaign and I'm finding non-combat scenes like these to be my favorite. I love the back and forth interaction between myself and what the Mythic GM and ÜNE: Emulators throw at me. Reminds me of the Rich Little (yes, I'm that old) bit of asking for a celebrity and a situation from the audience and improvising the results.

The Orc/Human strife. The Male Sea god with his 'school' of followers... I'm really digging the world-building that's coming out of these sessions. I'd be really interested in seeing a side episode where a different game is played that maybe fleshed out the setting even more.

An episode where Simon doesn't almost die. Well I'll be.... 😂 But seriously, It's great that you are showing how much fun 'Solo play' can be. Because I know there are plenty of people who have wanted to get into TTRPG because of Critical Role, but can't find groups. Solo games are a viable alternative.

Oh hey, some random soldier guy, the ghost thing seems interesting, too bad he probably won't stick around for more than one or two episdes... Watching back this episodes it's fun how even now I seem to find new details. Like Edbert being so dismissive about recruting a priest could be just stubbornness and unlucky rolls, but thinking about it it makes perfect sense for his character. He probably tried to get help from the priests of all religions he could find at that point and since he's still haunted, he kinda has a reason to think that priests are all mountebanks. I don't remeber if he's relation to religion ever comes up later but it just seems so logical and in-character for him to react like this.

I have to confess I don't normally enjoy fantasy actual plays, but your infectious enthusiasm and skill has me subscribed and eagerly anticipating each episode. Will you be developing Edbert's haunting (assuming he lives that long!)? The ghost won't be just another soldier he killed in battle - perhaps the enemy surrendered and in a berserk rage Edbert killed him anyway, or maybe it was even friendly fire?

In Basic Fantasy RPG, I rolled my main character's backstory at random using their Quick Character Creation supplement. Ellarwen is the third child in her elven family, and her parents are merchants (innkeepers). The significant events from her childhood is she was apprenticed in her parents' occupation. Then she was orphaned. She was taken in by bandits. I'm not sure how she was orphaned, so there's a bit of a gap there. BUT her elvish family (parents and two siblings) were killed by a noble ( the KING of all people 😱) Then, she was apprenticed in the craft of a government official (the town mayor). Ellarwen's significant events in young adulthood include: moving to the big city. She was sold into slavery, but escaped. And she developed 4 vices - she swears like a sailor, lacks self confidence, is quick-tempered, and is mistrustful of people. Then, she learned how to be an Adventurer. 😯 I'll leave it up to my imagination to figure out the rest, but still - her backstory is kinda sad, but that's how she began adventuring. So that's really cool. 🙂 Although I'm not too sure what happened to her Bandit guardians. I might ask the Event chart about it. 😉 I especially want to ask Mythic GM why the King killed her family.

Great stuff! Is Edbert a Wild Card or is he another unfortunate extra? Also, if you're ever looking to get into Savage Worlds: Adventure Edition, they have rules for tougher extras (they have either one or two wound boxes), in case you want some more variation between a minion and a major NPC.
