Aardman is an animation studio I don't talk about enough! Being so unapologetically British and filled to the brim with comedy, I felt it was only fitting to try something slightly new for this SCENE Series by talking about all the elements that build the gag in a particular humor-focused scene. The centre of the moment is not about plot, or character, it's just dumb fun. And all the separate pieces that can go together to make an iconic scene for an iconic movie. First of all, *THE TOAD!* running gag you did was hilarious. Secondly, this movie has always been one of my absolute favorites, and one of the many reasons I'm a fan of all things British. This scene in particular was the one I remember most. I'm surprised the Henchfrogs popping up on the edges of the screen hasn't become a meme format.

Fun fact about this movie, it was originally going to include butlers for Roddy named Gilbert and Sullivan but they decided to scrap the characters for the final movie in favor of having Roddy all alone which made one of the main cruxes of the plot much better as a result. Not sure officially why they got rid of those two but they were in development enough to appear in the first teaser trailer and the video games.

I loved this move from when I first saw it, brand new, in a theater. It remains my all-time favorite Aardman's work. Granted, I was already in my 20s when it was released. I'm not sure how I would have felt about it if it had existed when I was a kid.

The *THE TOAD* kept making me laugh no matter what. Also, this movie was and still is one of my favs. I also love how funny the frogs and the toad was. My dad and I have a joke we randomly use from this movie. At the part where shocky is introduced and he socks roddy, we find this pretty funny. So now, we pretend to shock each other and say shocky. I love this movie and it’ll be one of my favorites.

No, minions are so overused that they become unfunny (despite having a few good gags here and there); the slugs in this movie, on the other hand, are hilarious, because they are used at the perfect moments, and in just the right limited amounts. Frankly, they're the funniest part of this movie. Each of their appearance cracks me up!

ok, I now realise another advantage the slugs have over the minions: if I remember correctly (not entirely sure to be honest, been a long time since I watched it), the slugs are NOT part of the story. You could remove them entirely and the plot would remain exactly the same. This is not the case for the minions, which I feel is a disservice for this kind of comedy-only oriented characters.

Just rewatched it and was definitely surprised by how funny it was. This scene is a great example of all the elements that were successful being used all at once and it is glorious! It greats because there is so much going on that you can't catch everything (all the gags) on just the one viewing. It's so fast but damn if it have me rolling with laughter. The mime - camera turn part was when it pushed it over the edge to brilliant. And Bill Nighy's dialogue and delivery - bahaha - every time!

i remeber this movie, but not the name, they go one an journey to the nord( i think it was the nord) in a zepelin and end up geting stranded but later reunite with it in a foggy night( probably crashes) there was also somthing about a killer whale and a mayor scene i remember from it is that they change the propeller above water midflight and it ends up faling in the water, and a scene with escimos hanging on the ropes of the zepelin. can anyone tel me the name plz (btw it's not the red tent).
