Poké Balls are only the second most advanced technology in the Pokémon World. Number one (and even more terrifing) was the creation of Porygon; using the Pokémon Storage System in reverse to turn a primitive 3D model into a physical lifeform, complete with it retaining the abilities it had inside a virtual envoirment - aka. bringing a video game character to life and somehow allowing it to continue working by video game physics in the real world!

Chaotix Fox The amazing thing about Porygon is that its body consists of variable matter. It can alter its shape, color and type at will. And unlike Ditto, Porygon is not an organic lifeform that just mimics other things, but it can actually transmutate itself into any organic or anorganic matter. Now image Porygon had been programmed with the ability to reprogram not only itself, but also its virtual envoirment, before it was transfered into the physical world.

I like to imagine that after scientists literally found the secret of quantum entanglement and uncovered and mastered the powers of physics they just got bored and handed them to little kids to see what the fuck they'd do with them lmao. That also brings the possibility that Pokemon are just genetically altered organisms made by humans. I mean I know some Pokemon are canonically "synthetic" but come on as wild as the Pokemon universe may be it may all just be really advanced physics in the end.

The other idea is that entire world of pokemon is a giant simulation, meaning, nothing has mass and everything is actually digital, which would make sense considering in the series, clearly dangerous things that happen do not generally kill people, like being flamed by a Charizard. This would also allow for all the technology and powers that exist in that universe, including pokemon themselves. This would mean that the pokeball breaks down the sent information that makes up the visual representation of the pokemon with an algorithm for them breaking out. Basically, complex VR which is complex enough for people to live their lives in a world that has very different rules, because everything is digital. Your brain is a jar. And we can in fact do this in the future considering pretty much anything can be broken down into information, likely more complex than just zeros and ones, but still a similar idea. That or exactly what the theory said. This is why transporters are a no-no for many. Breaking down something into parts means death. Basically, you constantly create a clone over and over, but the original is always gone which the original is the you.

@Caylon Gorell heat death likely won't happen as dark energy is the only reason it would happen and dark energy is still energized/charged from the big bang, as dark energy continues to dissipate causing the universe to further expand, it will lose its potential whereas dark matter will not. We'll either be left with floating galaxies separated from each other by millions of light years, or if dark matter is present in the space between galaxies, we could perhaps experience a big crunch, which could lead to another big bang.

eh the pokeball has been around for centuries in the pokemon universe. Essentially if the pokemon series takes place in modern times the original pokeball was created in b.c. or early a.d. in their universe. I think it's revealed in either pokemon 2000 or one of the movies from the late 90's early 2000's.

Okay so I saw this video when I was around 12 or 13, and, after a tweenage existential crisis, I came to the conclusion that breaking down a mind and reconstructing it is no different then simply passing through time. If you think about it, you are constantly becoming a new person with each moment that passes. In fact, you can even say that with each moment the present you dies and a future you is born. Therefore the stasis of death is really just a pause in the loop as you die and do not become your future self. It’s hard to explain my thought process here, but just know that this video drove a child insane.

So if we use atoms that are entangled, no more lag... NO MORE LAG!
@WintersFinalstand
@WintersFinalstand 8 жыл бұрын
That is the theory, but also the issue. You can't entangle multiple atoms with each other. You can only entangle 1 atom to 1 atom. basically 2 way communication. This also means that a linked device is linked to 1 device. To take a example of a multiplayer game of 40 people and a single server. The server has 40 entangled atoms, of which the 40 people each have 1 of the paired atoms, IE. I have 1 pair, to one of those 40 atoms at the server. Virtually, the only lag is computing speed, but this is the issue too. To add any new players, you need to give and equip them with their very own personal paired atom with which to communicate, and add it's pair to the server as well. Virtually, we can not create a multiplayer game of any kind through quantum entanglement, because everyone who is going to play needs the specific machine paired to the server. Even talking to friends, those friends must have the paired atom. To all assets and friends you talk, you must have 1 atom linking to them. To get a new addition to anything you can reach, you must receive a new atom, as well as the person or object with which you are communicating. In terms speaking of galactic communication, you can have a dozen worlds in communication easily, but to add a new world to that list, the new world needs to be equipped with a individual phone line to each of the new worlds individually, as well as those worlds also getting their very own phone that is connected to the new world. To further limit this, the same atom that is entangled on each world must have each planet ship their pair to the new planet. Once this infrastructure is in place, phenomenal, but also extremely costly. You will absolutely not be able to do this on a mass scale, and it will be expensive. Let alone making a living breathing network of data like the internet today. So while lag is bad, the very fact you can communicate half way across the world even witha ping of 500 is insane, as that is months of travel. But it is only by this pattern that we can plug and go to the largest information source ever invented n the history of Man. We will never see quantum entanglement on a personal scale, not unless we can find a way to send the right single to our computers and our computer being able to entangle and dis-entangle freely and at will.

@JoeJoeTater
@JoeJoeTater 8 жыл бұрын
Sadly, that's not how it works. While it's true that the states are instantly teleported, you can't actually use them to transfer information. For the person on the receiving end to be able to "read" the message on their entangled particles, they need the sender to tell them what state the sending particles were in to begin with. The sender has to use something classical (aka, not using entanglement) to give this info to the receiver. So, the fastest you can actually send information is still light speed. Besides, lag is usually due to decoding, processing, and encoding, not the actual transit time in a wire.

Great theory, however not true. When you have a Pokémon that has been poisoned inside a pokeball, he still decays in health. This is simply not possible unless the computer storing the data continues some timer which is highly unlikely in a system meant to store Pokémon. I personally think the pocket dimension theory is more likely.

Function of a Pokeball Introduction- A pokeball sucks in a Pokémon’s soul leaving the body to disintegrate to only come back when the pokeball is thrown and the captive Pokémon to run around, get bruised and get concussions, to get sucked back into a pokeball. Inside The Ball- The pokeball is just metal inside, with blue LED lights that try to make the Pokémon’s soul not feel sad. I Choose You - When the ball is thrown, the Pokémon inside shakes so much, that Rowlet has a reason for sleeping, and Spindza thingy. The one with weird hypnotic eyes. Yeah. That poor soul learned the hard way. Shrinking Process- The Pokémon is just the soul, which is invisible. It can fit right in the ball, but it still doesn’t automatically feel better in captivity, ASH!! Conclusion- Pokeballs are vanilla wafers different. You think master balls are so pretty inside Pokémon never leave? wrong... The layers are so thick, that Pokémon can’t escape no what. They get pulled in because of a strong magnet. So, pokeballs should be crushed by Snorlax’s Pulverizing Pancake, and stick to how Ash almost caught his first Pidgey. Smuggling it. Thanks for reading.

Maybe a pokemon's moves are like animals using parts of their body's as weapons like cobras spitting venom or electric eels shocking other animals

Just going to point out that the energy requirements and assembly physics must be insane. We're talking about reassembling a mass instantaneously with no regard for how massive it is. The very act of catching a pokemon would create a vacuum wave and the release of said pokemon would create for all intent and purposes a shockwave or explosion depending on size. So if we were say to instantaneously assemble groudon the energy released would likely be on the order of an atomic bomb (don't take my word for it, I'm just guessing based on mass and size) meaning 10 year olds are walking around with small nuclear bombs everywhere…

What if pokeballs are something like a spatial item? Means inside is a dimension attached to the pokeball, where the pokemon is tortured. And the pokeball itself just has to move a pokemon between dimensions. And we already know that you can link to other universes with the linkcable to trade and fight with trainers from other universes

I know he's also accounting for how large a Pokemon is as well but the heaviest Pokemon is actually Cosmoem, not Groudon. Weighing in at a whopping 2204.4lbs (or 999.9kg)! Given that Cosmoem is 0'04" (0.1m) in size however, there's likely a small black hole inside that strange shell it has.

6:58 I mean we seem to forget these pokeballs can also fold in on themselves and flat out defy the Law of Conversation. So it's possible that pokeballs are designed around the principles of converting matter into energy. Rather than breaking the law of conservation it conserves matter by breaking it down into two forms: Light Energy and Information. Effectively Pokeballs are batteries that can convert an objects mass into energy. This might also account for the "struggle factor" you overlooked, as keep in mind things like paralysis or sleep increase the opportunity to capture a Pokemon rather than decrease it. And yes decrease is the right word. Because if your theory was correct then the application of status effects would inhibit the process of capturing a Pokemon. This also possibly means that the no cloning theorem is completely ignored as the original being is not destroyed in any way, but preserved in an alternative form. Not to mention if it was an actual fatal process that clones then why is there no information decay? I mean you yourself have pointed out people can capture freaking GOD in the pokeverse, and we have pokemon like Ditto. Ditto also further debunks your theory as it itself defies the no cloning theorem.

Ok, this is a pretty interesting theory, however it might be incorrect. In the Pokemon X&Y series, Ash gets a Frokie from Prof. Sycamore and this Frokie did not like any other trainers expected for Ash. That Frokie later evolved into a Frogadeir, which then evolved into a Greninja. That Greninja was a mega evolution that no other Greninja was able to achieve because Ash had such a strong bond with it. Consider this: Frokie/Greninja always retreated back to its' Pokeball, unlike Ash's beloved Pikachu, who never went into its' Pokeball. Greninja, according to your hypothesis, died and was "reborn" for most of the series as he summoned/retreated frequently. Sooooo, memories and experiences must also be replicated in quantum theory - if it is the reason for "storage" of Pokemon. How else could Greninja achieve the repetitive bond with Ash if he was "transported" via this process after frequent matches? Incidentally, other trainers have similar, strong bonds with their Pokemon. Maybe Star Trek's Gene Roddenberry has the answer :)

Late to the party but if that's how modern pokeballs work, explain the massive computing power of the master ball that never fails. Or how about the apricorn balls people used to use before modern ones were made, you can't tell me people had the technology to create quantum computers and instantaneous data transfer and still used little nuts that grew on trees to contain the tech. Now let's consider Legends Arceus, those pokeballs look like they are made of wood, do they still contain quantum computers that people living in the equivalent of feudal Japan create?

The only way that pokeballs aren't killing pokemon is if they aren't actually alive. If they just appear to be alive to us, in every way, but are actually 3D holographic projections of digital information, then the pokeball could just disable the hologram and store the pokemon in its digital state. Of course then that only works for the first 6. as soon as you send a pokemon to bill's PC it would essentially be the digital equivalent of teleportation. Copy and delete.

I always thought that with each pokeball it would be created a micro-universe to which the pokeball would be its door (similar to bags of holding in d&d). When you open it, it would act as a blackhole and suck stuff up. Of course it would not explain why it only attracted pokemon. I like your theory better.

You need to do a bit of deeper research into quantum teleportation. Basically current popular theories suggest that teleportation through quantum entanglement doesn't result in the death of the participant. There isn't a "copy" as the arriving subject is in fact the original subject sent (which is proven by quantum theory) and no copy would persist at the sending point due to the no-clone theory you brushed on. Think of Schrodinger's cat. Through quantum teleportation you, like the cat, would be in existence at point A and point B until your quantum state (being at point A or B) was fixed (or in the cat's unfortunate situation, dead or alive). At which, by fixing the state at point B, you would appear to 'move' to that location. The failure to capture could be taken as a failure to scan or entangle the pokemon's quantum state therefore it never leaving point A. My question is, can quantum states be stored, just like pokemon are stored in their balls?

I think your calculation of the mass-density in 6:53 is wrong, it should be 950{kg}/((4/3)*3.14*0.0476^3){meter cube} which equals 2,102,878 kg/m^3 ,not 2101 kg/m^3

This is the exact reason why I don't trust teleportation nor would I ever use the fucking star trek transporter, EVER! If i'm going to do FTL travel, I demand portal technology that warps the universe so that the distance between point A and point B becomes zero. I don't care what kind of energy requirements is involved! Teleportation = no-go!

Well there's another way to look at this. According to Quantum Theory, there's 11 dimensions, not 4. But we only notice 4 of them. In String Theory, everything is made of 2-D strings and therefore changing frequency of the string changes what the string is by its very nature. So what if a Pokeball changes the frequency of the Pokemon from the first four dimensions into the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th dimensions? *POOF* A flash of light and the Pokemon vanishes. If this extra dimensional space is outside of normal time-space, then it's mass is nullified without losing any of it. The Pokemon won't age, eat, sleep, breath or heal itself in any way. It's effectively in Stasis. Still, it's not like mass to energy conversion that would wipe out the Earth and the Moon. The Pokeball is the gateway device that keeps track of ONE Pokemon so that it can recall that Pokemon without error. When trading Pokemon, you're not trading Pokemon but instead switching the *gate code* for the Pokemon stored in a Quantum Dimension. So rest easy that you aren't eradicating your Pokemon every time you put it in it's ball. Pikachu just doesn't like the feeling of not feeling anything, even the passage of time. *You're welcome*
