Morning Bryan. Cows look good, sorry about the snow mobile, not good when equipment takes a dump when you need it. I too agree with the comments below...takes a tough guy to work in the snow and cold. Good luck recovering your cows. Good update!
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
Thanks! It was pretty frustrating to lose the snowmobile at that time. Luckily I’ve got a lot of friends and family that have snowmobiles also and can hopefully keep helping me look.

Watching this reminds me why I couldn't live in Star Valley. Just too damn cold up there. Whenever someone from Salt Lake makes a similar comment about Cache Valley, I say "well at least I don't live in Bear Lake or Star Valley!"

Haha we definitely have our moments too when we question why we live here.

Bryan, it’s too cold when you have to shovel snow to use the heater or the chute!😂 I saw y’all are forecasted to drop to -11 this week one morning. BRRRRR Our summer heat and sandstorms looks much better to me! Those torpedo heaters do good work on cold trucks/tractors to warm the oil and block on cold mornings. Love watching Ellis. I like your feeding on the snow to avoid the loss/mess at a trough. The snow sure is pretty though.
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
That heater comes in handy that’s for sure. We have minimal waste when we feed like we do. Always good to hear from you!

We got a foot of snow with a little ice here in West Virginia overnight a couple days ago. It’s hard working outside in that and I know you get way more than we do over the winter. Did you ever figure out where those Yaks in your last video came from? It was strange just seeing them run around out there.
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
Yes we were able to find the owners. Snow definitely makes everything a little harder to do.
@Hosstache17 күн бұрын
Are you able to feed less when the river pasture is open?
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
Yes a little, we were trying to force them to eat some of that river grass.

What will we do when all our machines are all electric? At least we can figure out what's wrong and fix them, for now.
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
I guess we will all have to become electricians on top of everything else haha.

Put them straw bales in a hay feeder free choice if your short of good hay
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
That’s are plan with them, also to try and mix them with the hay also.
@evansfarms796116 күн бұрын
Sure hope you find your cows.. You went through a lot to get that snowmobile to working just to look for them.. Looks like someday you need to shed at your house there.. So you can park in and it would be a little warmer for your snowmobile to start in as well 🤷♂️
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
We are in the process of building a garage with a lean-to on it so we can store the ranger and camper in also.

Why dont you set all your gates above the ground about 10" as you know the snow is going to be falling every year.
@LuthiRanchWY13 күн бұрын
I’ve thought about adding some kind of spacers to the hinge to raise the gates up. I can’t have them set too high in the summer though or the calves could crawl under them. They are definitely set too low for winter though.
