Hi guys. Some info regarding the swedish things. Smör means butter. The small grinders are for allmond. The "iron rods" beside the front door are weight scales. The small bed is a "grow bed". Its expandable for when the child child grows. Therefore the wheels on the legs. Husquarna are genuine swedish. 👍

@@MirkaZemanova In Sweden they are called mandelkvarn, which literally translates to almond grinder/mill.
@MirkaZemanova9 ай бұрын
Hello, I was NOT disputing the name "mandelkvarn". I have merely said that grinders/mills such as in this video were used throughout Europe for grinding ANY nuts. My late mother possessed such a mill and we used it for grinding walnuts. I was fortunate enough to buy a similar vintage mill two years ago, and use it for grinding walnuts and hazelnuts. Almonds can be ground more successfully, in my opinion, in an electric grinder/mill, as the result (almond flour) will be finer.

There is virtually no dust accumulation on anything. Flies and bees are attracted by heat, and sunlight. I found places like that had a buildup like that on the sunny side of homes. My aunt and uncle, on their farm, had that problem, until they hung up the tacky fly strips.

The grinders at eight minutes in are probably for nuts (hazel nuts, especially) or spices, and I think that kind of model is still widely used around Sweden. From the bookcase at 28:21, the house must have been inhabited at least until around 2000 - Lisa Scottoline's detective thriller "En hotad kvinna" ("Woman under Threat") was released in Sweden in 1998. The cookbook seen at 7:43, "Vår Kokbok" (Our Cooking Book) is a well-known one that's been issued in many editions from the 1970s into the 21st century - my parents had a similar copy printed in 1990. Husqvarna (the sewing machine at 31:46) is a well-known Swedish brand for sewing machines, home washing/laundry machines, many kinds of home utility machines, and they're still active. The name is spelled with QV, but the Q is pronounced as K - the city of the same name, at Lake Vättern, also altered its spelling to Huskvarna in the early 20th century, when there was a spelling reform in this country. The brand name has retained the old spelling. "Freja" is the name of the model of the sewing machine, not the brand. :) To me the house looks like it couldn't have been standing completely abandoned for twenty years, if that had been it there would have been a lot more dust and smudges. It's been in occasional use well into this century, probably within the last ten years I would say.

@@aheineman9138 You'd have to figure that the house has been used in several stages. The black-and-white portrait photos are not recent, they're at least sixty years old I would say. (I'm from Sweden myself and have seen rural houses like this one, so I can figure out some of the "period stamp" of various interior items and stuff.) The house may still be in use as a summer cottage, but it's probably decades since there were small children living in it.
@aheineman91389 ай бұрын
@@louise_rose Yes, I agree. The lack of busy/child-related clutter suggests that this isn’t how the house was when the family supposedly “disappeared.” It’s been staged at some point, imo. I doubt the personal photos would be displayed if others are using the property. Even if it’s occasionally inhabited by their family then I would expect some additions/changes. It’s odd to me.i grew up with antiques in a 1905 house (in US) so find it fascinating see the Swedish equivalents. It’s a beautiful home. Swedes must be more reverent towards trespassing laws than elsewhere.😊

Hey dear Lesley, I had to rewatch this truly wonderful video in that still so surprisingly intact Swedish house. - The rooms with their interior is still looking so especially pristine and in very good condition, that I thought, the former owners would return at any moment. - There are also some beautiful antique items visible. The former owners had such a good taste in decorating and furnishing the rooms of their home. Beautiful and cozy with a very friendly atmosphere! - In the childrens rooms these highly detailed and lovingly decorated doll houses nearly blew my mind! - I also loved the touching background story about these motorcycle fans doing a lot of charity work and helping those in need. - When you even found the leather jacket and especially those black leather jeans with side lacing. So cool, I also have a similar one, although I don't ride a motorcycle! - And once more I have to say what an excellent camerawork Danny was doing, - and I absolutely loved the conversations between you and Danny! - In the living room with the music rack/ record player you found records showing Dolly Parton. Well, she was especially in the 1980-ies one of the most famous country music singers in the USA, and she also appeared in a number of well known movies, as she was also a talented actress back in the days. Absolutely wonderful and amazing explore video, bro! I enjoyed watching and looking forward to your next explore adventure! Wishing you fullheartedly all the best. Kindest regards also to your dear brother Jordy. Peace and sunny greetings from Switzerland.
