I knew a young man who had a very strong relationship with his Grandfather. Although he was a wonderful Grandfather to the young man, earlier in his life the Grandfather was not such a good Father to the young man's Mother. The Mother resented the relationship and one day said, "How can you be so close to a man who is such a terrible Father?". The young man said, "He is not my Father. That man is gone and has been replaced by a wonderful Grandfather. He is a different person to me than he is to you. Let me have that." The Mother agreed and the young man benefited and grew through the relationship. So did the mother and Grandfather. The terrible Father was never seen nor mentioned again.

I love listening to this Rabbi I found by accident I’m Irish I’m sixty I’ve been and seen the world. And I envy Jewish folk there way of life I worked for Jewish folk in Golders Green London as a kid or young man. I was taken under the wing of a kind Jewish man who helped me build a small construction company, I still miss him, so my customers are Jewish folk, every year I would build hundreds of huts or wooden style buildings so they could celebrate their first meal after coming out of the desert from years of roaming. Even then I knew being Jewish was something truly special. I was born Catholic and I’m wore this religion like a bad fitting cheap suit, it never fit it was uncomfortable, after years I dropped the pretence. Since the last 20 years I find God in my actions, in nature or people I pray by talking and robbing bits from other holy books . Is this wrong ' I treat people how I like to be treated. O course I’m Irish so I have another world I lived in, the conflict in my country brought me to fight the brits like all my old friends. I been and seen 3 war zones I have seen man at his worst. I have been cruel in my dealings with cruel men and treated them severely because I feared them coming back. Now I seek understanding not forgiveness I feel this to is wrong of me to not want forgiveness but I feel, or know I had no choice and more would suffer if I hadn’t acted. If a Catholic I could go to confession and be forgiven by a priest. See I feel I done my best even though God forbids the taking of life. I hope he lets me argue my case he seems a reasonable sort. If there’s any kind person out there with wise advice please tell me. AM I WRONG TO WORSHIP GOD IN THE WAY I DO.

so few things my man if I may: God does not forbid taking on life. Heforbids murder. there is a commandment: if you know someone's coming to kill you, it's your responsibility to wake up earlier than them and kill them first. we the Jews also have a saying: he who is merciful to the cruel will be cruel to the merciful. stay interested and stay inquisitive. continue to listen just smart spiritual people from different religions and you will be able to sort out the false teachings from the truth. whatever you believe in as long as you are doing things for the betterment of the world it's all good. you don't need to be a jew to do good in this world but you do need to believe that your purpose in this world is to make it better. Rabbi Freedman has literally hundreds of lectures, they are on various subjects and they are all free. try to make an appoint with something at least one every day have you will see it how you will automatically become a better human being because he answers so many universal questions. best regards and God bless

@gabrielkovalov8966
@gabrielkovalov8966 Жыл бұрын
@@emmanuelacharithayamim3627 How do you know it is made up? Why don't you say the tanakh itself is made up as well? You do realize only the jews kept it for a long time and only in aramaic/hebrew. Any translation you have of the bible is dependent on the oral tradition of the rabbis.... Because only through oral tradition the rabbis taught the meaning of the hebrew/aramaic letters. The bible did not come with a dictionary. It is a bit hypocritical for you to believe the oral tradition of the meaning of the words in the bible, but not the other oral tradition. Just so you know, on mount Sinai it is written that God has given multiple Torah (Torot). As such, the smallest amount of Torah that can be, has to be two or more. For one is a singular number. Go ask any theologian that knows biblical hebrew. It is written" and the torot "= multiple Torah. So not only is it impossible for you to read the Torah without the oral tradition, the bible itself tells you God has given multiple Torah. Just think about it, any given text if it is holy needs people who can understand it's holy meaning. Nothing in the oral tradition goes against the bible. How do we know that the bible calls adam, Adam because it relates to earth (adama) and blood (blood) and without A which is the first letter in hebrew and signifies God, there is only Dam, which means has become silent like a none living being. This A-dam is the perfect name for the first man. Anyways, after all this, I will tell you that it is not a requirement to believe that the king of Nineveh was Pharaoh, for the sages are debated in the oral tradition of whether he was spared at the crossing of the red Sea or not. You'd be surprised to know that even some biblical words the jews are not sure what is the meaning of the words anymore, like the word Thelet. Supposedly it is the shade of some blue color, but since the sages lost the the oral tradition on how exactly to make the color, we do not know today what color exactly it was. God bless.

A plausible interpretation: Why did the verse give a detailed listing of Pharoah's chariots, horsemen and hosts dying? To allude to the idea that all them died but Pharoah didn't. Pharoah himself isn't in the list.

To me, one of the key messages in this story of Jonah /Nineveh is that nobody had to convert to be redeemed/ saved from their deserved destruction. Once warned they turned themself around by becoming decent people. King David upon understanding he was that rich man in Natan's juridic parable admitted his grave sin before God and was redeemed .. There was no need for animal sacrifice in either case.. This is to teach that God accepts "at one ment" from a contrite jew and gentile alike. We have a saying that ""what is true in other scriptures post tanach is not new, and what is new is not true"" ❤

We say back then, based on time, but what thing laid down in time is true? Meaning the scratches on paper or rock, could have created, when one wakes in the morning. The very act of looking, comes with what one expects, and so can we trust yesterday. Did that memory arrive, this day? Quantum thoughts. Is today, the only day, that matters? I do not normally contemplate this way. No one can hear Jonah, in the whale, except ...( )

Was having some interesting discussion with Caaninite Palestinian about when Abraham when he crossed the Euphrates and people callede him evret"My friend, even Jewish experts will tell u The word Hebrew was used later on bec Abraham’s great great grandfather is ‘Eber meaning “the one who crosses” meaning the nomad. Abraham said and it is written in the Bible that his ancestors were roaming Arameans. So Hebrews are Arameans. What we call “Hebrew” is not the original Aramaic language of ancient Hebrew tribes but it is a Canaanite dialect mixed with some Aramaic influence. The garden of Eden is an allegory from Sumer bec Eden is a Sumerian word meaning “the plain” or the meadow. These are symbolisms used by Jewish prophets after the exile of Babylon" 🤔

Jonah set out to warn of the impending Day of the Lord, is swallowed by the Beast out of the Sea and is spewed out upon the shore as the Beast out of the Earth while the sun beats down upon his head and a burning east wind begins the Way of the Lord in the Desert. Down I went to the roots of the mountains; the bars of the nether world were closing behind me forever (Jon 2:7 NABO) For by my wrath a fire is enkindled that shall rage to the depths of the nether world, Consuming the earth with its yield, and licking with flames the roots of the mountains. (Deu 32:22 NABO) God sent a worm which attacked the plant, so that it withered (Jon 4:7 NABO) I am a worm, hardly human, scorned by everyone, despised by the people (Psa 22:7 NABO) He grew up like a sapling before him, like a shoot from the parched earth... He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, accustomed to infirmity... spurned, and we held him in no esteem. (Isa 53:2-3 NABO) "I would be better off dead than alive." (Jon 4:8 NABO)

Jonah is like many, he would rather see a whole city destroyed and watch it from underneath a shrub. Then the worm ate the shade and Jonah was more upset because he was suffering by sitting in the sun and God was sad at Jonas lack of mercy. Some are like this.

Another aspect to consider. Nineva was also the capital of the Assyrian Empire (Neo-Assyrians to be exact). By their own records were a brutal, barbaric people and enemies of pretty much everyone, including the hebrews. They were also known for retaliating with disproportionate retribution. The fact, God wanted Jonah to go to Nineva and warn the people to repent should speak volumes. As note, Nineva is smack dab in the middle of Mesopotamia, modern day Iraq. The complete opposite direction of, well, any sea.

This explanation is extra Biblical. It has no relation whatsoever to Biblical truth. The story that the Pharoah of the Exodus was later the king of Ninevah is not true. That Pharoah had been dead for centuries by Jonah's time.. What Jonah did had nothing to do with how God dealt with Israel. The part about Ishmael once again had nothing to do with Jonah...irrelevant.

Jonah didn’t want to obey God, Abba Father, because he had hatred in his heart for the non Jewish people, he didn’t believe it was fair. This was also prophecy about the coming Savior to save all mankind. Jonah decided to follow the Jewish god, Yahweh, not the real Creator. Ishmael and his mother was made to leave because he was a remembrance of Sarah’s sin and her jealousy. The Torah and the Quran speaks that Pharaoh died in the Red Sea 😳 why are you lying to your people 😮
