This video was filmed in my back yard. I've been fishing the James River and Appomattox River for 55 years. You guys went right past several holes woth monster fish. I've won 8 tournaments with in eyesight of the Hopewell marina. If you ever want to come back to Virginia and catch huge fish let me know. I used to guide the river and evey customer went home with a citation. My catfish biggest is 103.7 pounds caught 300 yards from the marina. I've fished tournaments all over the eastern part of the country. I've given up trophy fishing and fish for fun and relaxation now. Im still catching huge fish but a lot less stressful now.

I'm going to start catfish tournament fishing, 5:00 am , you get to sleep-in a extra hour and sucker someone else to pay for the gas.👍 👍 we poor salmon tournament fishermen get up at 4:00 am and pay for our own gas. But we do need a Joey aka netman , our last Levi went overboard, ( he missed the fish ) ... It all depends how good your netminder really is , just like hackey (hockey).

Hope you like the James River. Hopewell marina is one of the best launching points on the River. I have been fishing the James all my life. You had some good spots marked but best spots on the river are not far from the marina. I won a tournament and never went past the bridge. The lower unit blew out leaving the ramp and all I had was reverse. I putted around from the bridge up to the train bridge up the Appomattox. I put 137 pounds with 2 fish on the scales at the end. Next time you're in Virginia, I'd love to show you great bait holes that produce year round and some great tournament holes. I don't fish tournaments anymore since my ex wife got my truck and boat and I'm still recovering from the divorce so look me up.

Keith, Why isn't there a Catfish Tournament here in NC? There has to be some biguns at the Randleman Reservoir and Lake Brandt. I just need to get a boat to find those big ones, I doubt if they swim near the piers or the banks.

I frickin love that bird!!
