Dude. Cannot thank you enough for the content from the GoodGood family! I just got into golf this last summer at 36 years old. Perk of this late interest is that I have MANY friends who are welcoming me into golf… best part is their old gear. 😂 many of which share my passion of baseball. While I DO think it helps having that kind of background (maybe simply because if you like the feeling of smashing a baseball… just wait until you get that same feeling with a golf ball! The eye-hand coordination is there already, just have to rework your swing.) These instructional videos are the greatest! Always so excited to disappoint myself at the course when attempting them in real-time. 😂 I’m at the point in my game where I don’t keep score and just want to focus on getting decent and hopefully/eventually good strikes of the ball. I feel that since I’m such a novice that I feel that form/technique is the most important thing to learn. Ball flight and direction will matter after that. 😂

Grant, you are the MAN. Top notch content as always. Would the Good Good squad ever consider doing some kind of sweepstakes for a subscriber to get lessons and shoot a round with you gents? Could do great things for engagement numbers. Cheers

Great stuff. When I chunk two in a row I really stomp down on my left side at the top or slightly before the top and that gets me shifted and through the ball like Grant talks about. I know a lot of people think it is because they take their eye off the ball or that their head moves but the vast majority of the time it is one of those two things that Grant talks about.

@Alex.overseas3 жыл бұрын
I love this channel. A simple thing that helped my striking A LOT was to start targeting the ground 1 inch ahead of the ball (on iron shots). I was aiming right behind the ball before, which caused me to contact the ground before the ball, even with a good swing plane.

Can you post a video on how to hit "down" on the ball? Thanks
@method3412 жыл бұрын
You're not meant to try to hit down on the ball intentionally. This swing thought screwed up my golf swing for years. Just try and rotate through the ball. The divot occurs because you're releasing the club through the ball, not because you are trying to hit down on it.
@TLHockeyCards3 жыл бұрын
I usually hit my Irons pure without taking a divot. I haven't felt comfortable trying to hit ball first yet. Am I losing distance this way?

@JonasPraem3 жыл бұрын
if u chunk it to that towel, its not a fat shot, its a hole in the ground and a missed ball. If you practice not hitting 'fat' then dont hit off mats, they can sortoff disguise ur chunks

I definitely would love some drills to counter an inside out path. That's definitely my problem with all my clubs
@krejjsi3 жыл бұрын
Was my problem also. Put an alignment stick in to the grip of your club. In the backswing make sure the stick is pointing towards the ball, also in the start of your downswing. This will feel very steep but trust me, the club will be on path. Hitting my irons pure now 💪🏻

have you done a shank video? That will help me immensely. I know you have to keep you butt behind and not go forward when hitting, but man is it hard to do. Every time I think I have finally understood the swing the shank comes back. its probably the worst shot and feeling in golf.
