Ha, not afraid to try, not afraid to fail, that’s me! The hard truth is, you have to learn to accept and live with your mistakes (hard the first few times) and not allow anyone to shame you for it but to turn it into a life lesson that points you into a better direction.

I enjoyed this! I've been a fan of Nikki for some time. I'd watch her organize and felt at peace. Then, I watched your clutter bug series and immediately realize why watching her calms me so much...we share the same organization style...I'm a cricket 😊!

Fellow Cricket here, and I agree!! What impresses me most about Nikki is that her organization seems to allow her to express love to her family and others. :)) It's not just an end unto itself.

"Not afraid to try" is a completely foreign concept to me. I've let fear dictate much of my life. I envy people like her. 💜

It doesn't need to stay that way! I've had a lot of ladies tell me that I'm the bravest person they know but girl.... I'm scared so often 😂 at one point I realized that I could be scared and still do the thing anyway. So many times I'll feel like my heart will beat out of my chest and my hands will be shaking but I'll still do the thing. Certain things don't get a lot easier but most of them do ❤ you can do it! The most helpful phrase I try to live my life by is "What's the difference between a novice and a master? A master has failed more times then the novice has even tried"

Loved Nikki’s presentation on organizing when you move. I’ll be moving to another state after retirement and the tips on having a map for the movers to place the boxes in the garage and then moving in one box at a time is a game changer. Totally going to try this so I can declutter on both ends of the move.

Welcome to Charlotte Nikki! 🎉 I have really been enjoying your content recently and have been planning my move in and organization after building a home for the past 18 months. I have been a mobile veterinarian for 20 years and know every neighborhood in Charlotte so feel free to reach out to me if you need to understand the different neighborhoods and areas. Charlotte offers something for everyone and it really is hard to choose! I would be happy to share my insights!

Am I alone in this thought? I’m a complete morning person. Most of my energy is in the morning through mid-afternoon. By 4, I have enough in reserves to make dinner. After that is sitting and doing reflection work and bed. Yes, I get up to a sink of dishes. My family goes to bed way after me. But the dishes and green tea are my morning routine. Am I alone?

I used to do a version of that; many Saturday mornings were spent doing a ton of dishes. It didn't bother me at all to go to bed and leave dishes unwashed, like some people. Lol. Now, I've forced myself to do them after supper so I have a clean kitchen to make supper the next evening so I'm not tempted to go thru the fast food drive-through. :)

That’s ok. The main thing is that you have a routine which handles them. If you left them for days, that would be issue.

@M For some reason, that reminds me of a video I saw a while back on The Secret Slob's channel. It was a day in the life of her sister, who worked in the medical field, had 2 small children, and a husband whose job kept him from home for long periods of time. She would heat up the meal she had cooked the night before so the kids wouldn't get so "hangry". Then, later that evening, she'd cook the next night's dinner and put it in the fridge.:)

Listen, I love Nikki and I've been following her for a long time but I worry that she's not going to feel relatable for anyone who is really in a disorganized mess. Her stuff is always so gorgeous and so planned down to the last detail. I would hate for anyone to look at her channel and feel their self-image drop. She's wonderful eye candy and she doesn't irritate me the way the Home Edit does but I don't know that I'd suggest her to a total messy newbie. I feel like you're a much more comfortable starting place, if you know what I mean.

I think because all the ceramics she has in the shelf are white, they blend in with the shelf itself so they reduce the feeling of visual clutter while allowing for some visual storage and decor.
