How many tanks do you have ? Can you make a video of all your tanks and fish? Also can we get updates on the fish from previous videos? Like the butterfly fish the top view in those videos was amazing i think the videos were called ( today in the fish room 1,2 ) when is ep 3 ?
@TheDave33318 күн бұрын
At the moment I have 22 tanks up and running. I do plan on putting together a fish room tour video at some point, but who knows when I'll get to that. I have a lot of footage sitting around that I need to put together. . . The butterfly fish are alive and well, no issues, but no babies either. The hillstream loaches are still going strong and breeding. I'm phasing out guppies, working with apistogrammas, breeding lots of bristlenose, and getting more neocaridina shrimp.

I❤ cellophane Bettas. In California we have gloBettas again (from Asian imports). Cellophane is the clear layer on any fish needed to see GloFish “glow”. GloBettas from Asia are marble, so each one has its own unique patchwork of fluorescence.

Swim bladder position in betta is strange a bit. It seems like preparation for easier vertical swimming ability. When watching how betta swim in water we can see that their position is usually directed a little bit upward.
@TheDave33317 күн бұрын
Yes, it's true. They are oriented towards the surface where they feed and keep their eggs.
@scrunglenut622215 күн бұрын
perhaps the swim bladder issues come from eating too much floating food, and they change the buoyancy of their swim bladders to compensate so much that it puts stress on the organ?
@TheDave33313 күн бұрын
That's a very interesting idea, and it makes perfect sense. :-D
@MattKeepsFish16 күн бұрын
Another reasons why bettas shouldn’t be sold as they are. We used to feed them twice weekly, 5+ pellets all at once. I think it was that, plus constantly low temp that caused the constant swim bladder issues :/
@TheDave33316 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's a bad combination. over-feeding + slow metabolism due to cold water = digestive problems.

@TheDave333 My ... what? My "input"? How very mechanistic and transactional. So, that's it; 'ey? My "input"? Just you, the Almighty Algorithm, and my "input"? Is this the new Holy Trinity of our age? Here we live, on this mad Planet of The App's, worshipping this shiny, new-&-improved Holy Trinity? Our technocratic dominion, wherein we race (and erase) our lives away, on this short track, striving from absolute nowhere to everlasting nothingness? This, all, while Big Mommy Karen chants to us her Lullaby of Obliteration? This is a grim picture you paint, a despairing message you send, Mr. The Dave. I certainly hope you're happy!!

That's my favorite fish and I will always have 1 in all of my aquariums unless I have some inhabitants that prefer to live there lives without .....like us Humans usually have a lot of experience with the good and the not so good . Look at all the aquariums like a Judge Judy Courthouse and I can just imagine what she would say to the Defendents that have failed to be..... that list of negligence would take all night to write and that's what I love about watching your VIDEOS. You have always made highly informative videos that are easy to see what is the best way to create a successful aquarium which is not possible without the desire to learn and being able to have patience with the majority of the time in order to create a balanced ecosystem with or without a Betta ❤️🤍💙
