Thank you. This was very helpful! Most people are out there demonizing avoidants rather than helping us truly understand. Avoidants have been hurt enough and I don’t want to listen to the unfair characterization of them I’ve seen on other channels. Subscribed.

He is definitely making gradual moves to open up more. The last one was big for him. So now he's withdraw again. I'm used to dealing with it once I'm aware. I was with my avoidant husband for 29 years. But he was slightly different, he never love bombed me early on. This one didn't reveal his avoidants till a year after first meeting. So I didn't always handle contact in the right way back then. He needs me/wants me or he wouldn't still make any bigger steps forward 2 years later. I'm not sure he'll ever fully "yield" need of full control though. I hope so but..... He told me "all women want to control me" so we will see. In the meantime I'm progressing myself forward.

Where is the document mentioned about how to communicate with an avoidant?

Thank you for your informative videos regarding interacting with DAs. I have seen a number of your videos that detail maneuvering during and after a no contact period that was “initiated” by the DA. Have you done a video(s) offering your insights when the partner of the DA is the one that initiated the no contact? E.g., how long should it last; suggestions about how to reinitiate contact; what to do if the DA reaches out (rare, I know); etc. Any link or content in this regard would be appreciated.

What if they are close with their mum or sister? Does he get his emotional connection from them and doesn’t miss the emotional connection from relationship, or is this different?

My son is Advoidance. He has been since a 2 yr old. Very Independant. He hasnt spoken to me since my divorce from his father. He talks to his father. It's been over 15 years of estrangement. Is there any hope to connect with him again before I pass on?

Nooooo maybe he’s mad because you didn’t work on your marriage and destroyed your family. Good for him.
