The Sequel Trilogy Villain We Should Have Gotten Joruus C'Baoth

While the sequels are done, I can't help but wonder all the other possible villains we could have had in the trilogy. In today's video, let's go over Joruus C'Baoth and Thrawn. Joruus is arguably one of the most powerful Jedi to survive Order 66 (as Luke believed until he learns who Joruus really is) and his journey with Thrawn after the destruction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi is a story that can be learned from Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire. The story of Luke, Mara, Joruus and Thrawn is amazing, and I hope this video sheds light on who Joruus is. We can go over the entire trilogy of Heir to the Empire at another time.

@@thrguywiththecoins9726 Yes, but the Thrawn Trilogy is classic EU timeline, rebels doesn't fit into the classic EU timeline given that Thrawn was still a vice admrial prior to ANH in the EU, the new timeline (and the prequels, rebels, clone wars) just borrow EU elements like Thrawn, the TIE Defender, even Coruscant itself.

The Thrawn Triolgy by Timothy Zahn. EVERY fan should read this one. Excellent three-book series, which is rich in depth and lore. Zahn really has a talent for the Star Wars universe, as he shows in almost every other book he has written.

Favorite villain: Maul. The clone wars gave him so much personality and depth, and made him such a great character. Edit: I do understand Maul isn't quite a villain, and more an anti-hero in the grand scheme. My mistake. In that case, I thought Darth Nihilus was a very interesting take on a Sith, where he was more a literal natural disaster than an actual mortal man. In hindsight, this will sound weird, but I liked Director Krennic quite a lot. A very interesting non-sith villain in my opinion. (A few others of note in my mind are Vitiate, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Darth Vader.)

Favorite villain: Thrawn, he basically created modern-day legends and the Thrawn trilogy is based on him. When he was brought into rebels he was the only competent imperial, and I liked that. Hopefully, he will be in the ahosoka show. Also, he likes art.

Yes! He was so scary. And completely insane. Watching him control people was terrifying. I think Palps was my favorite reoccurring villain but Thrawn is my favorite lesser known villain. Rebels barely scratches the surface with him. Though it does fill in the gaps in the books. I read all of the Thrawn books through the Hand of Thrawn duology. I just Started Thrawn Ascendancy. It’s a pleasure to watch him outmaneuver and outthink his enemies. And to see how much he gets out of there art.

Reading the Zahn books was a slog at times. Thrawn and Mara were the breakouts. Unfortunately Thrawn’s skill set never seemed quit believable and he fell before proving a non force user could be of consequence. Joruus seemed like a limp safety. Zahn did a bang up job for a franchise that no one quite seems to get. I have more respect for Zahn than ever in light of what Lucas and others have done since.

Goddamit I just read the book Heir of the Empire that dude is just Amazing! he, thrawn, Pallaeon and Mara Jade were muche better than Kylo, Snoke, Phasma and Hux in my opinion

You mentioned Order 66 in here, but the novelization was prior to the prequels and Order 66. I believe I remember they just went on from ROTJ and only mentioned the Clone Wars. I could be wrong.
