funny thing it got buffed. fel infused weapon and fel cleave now properly get the damage bonus from ruin capstone. also ALL shadowflame school spells get a 4x bonus from ruin capstone

Haunting Strike puts a debuff on the enemy that does a shadow attack every 3 seconds, no duration, only expires if you move more than 8 yards away from the enemy. That dot every 3 seconds applies a stack of corrupted maelstrom. Apply Haunting Strike once and you only have to use it again if you have to leave the boss. So you can essentially cast a chaos bolt every 3 attacks, instead of every 4. I also rolled Shadow Infusion that that makes shiv increase the damage of your next shadow ability by 20%. I gained 1k ST dps by cutting out gloomblade, and applying haunting strike, and then going eclipse strike->shiv->chaos bolt, throwing in the occasional eviscerate every 10ish seconds to maintain master of shadows.

Nice! I'm gonna try this version of the build sometime. I have a roll of this build right now with felblade and felcleave, with regular chaos bolt. Something that is interesting is that Chaos Meteor scales with the damage increase from corrupted maelstrom weapon, so you can use that as a GIGA aoe spell if you happen into it. (Aoe big 35k crits with ignite procs MMMMMMMMMMM) Thanks Heytrix, keep up the good work!

Insane build mate & great advise! Just rolled a similar build with 500 ish scrolls and am doing around 11k ST at ITL 68 (AoE capping around 28k)

I'm currently working a mix myself with maelstrom weapon / immolate / conflagrate / chaos bolt. to simplify, it'll combine frozen chaos and fel maelstrom to increase chaos bolt dmg with instant frost bolts from maelstrom weapon. Elemental immolate combined with Legacy of the arcanist you can drop elemental meteors form the sky. My idea for fun and hopefully competitive damage is to rain meteors from the sky while also allowing chaos bolt to hit for Aoe instead of just single target at around +300% dmg. (I don't know if frozen chaos bolt just gives 5 charges or stacks up to 5 times but if it does than it'd be even more modifier) The only things I'm crucially missing is Molten fel core, interrogators immolation to make it instant, a weapon enchant. conflagrate. Like you said in the video, a big issue is getting very specific abilities, to both not run out of mana or energy to keep up a constant rotation you have to some undesirable energy talents or the Talent "Infused energy." Reave works for mana or you can also take seal of wisdom at level 1 for a melee version. It's a butchered description of the idea but i'm excited to hate the game while rerolling and seeing the same ability I've rolled off show back up 2 rerolls later! -(this def hasn't happened more than 4 times so far)-

Im sure its gonna work! Sounds alot what i discriped in my Chaos Bolt theory craft, and ive seen ppl to simular. But its VERY card to roll Also "wizard" enchants are also a good mana gain

Have been trying to get this build for weeks - missing 1 talent. Very fun so hard to get all you want. Been starting with Sinister Strike, Charge,Arcane Intellect and Battle shout. Swap Sinister Strike at level 10 for Eviscerate, and then get Eclipse Strike from card at 10.

for that 8% extra dmg if its not physical then chaos bolt can trigger both effects for example i have fire and shadow one and chaos bolt proc both effects and gloomblade version seems to be better than sinister strike version

It's also possible to play this build with a 2handed weapon, instead you need: flametongue wep, lava sweep, fel cleave and felblade. I like the 2handed build alot since lava sweep and fel cleave is good for aoe

General fire stuff is good 5/5 Ignite and the 5/5 spell crit that work with Ignite Fire dmg talents, mental quickness and you can run str or Agi

Have a strength version of this build. Since i was missing some level 10 talents i started fresh characters and leveled them to 20. If they didn't hit what i needed i deleted them. Faster to level to 20 with a pot then prestige.

Going resolute and then going manastorm low levels(1-50) can be quite beneficial because it’s a lot easier to roll your important starters.

there is a talent that when you cast pure chaos bolt it cast poison rain with it, that's how you can get AOE. Edit: Wild Felfire is the name of the talent.

Fel infused maelstrom is starting to piss me off, the fact that its a 3 card set thats put into every single melee kit is so dumb. Would suggest FoK as a card.

What are peoples opinion on agi vs int for this build? I’m thinking chaos bolt scales better from sp and fel/dark intent from agi. Card wise its carding mental quickness vs ignite and dark flames RE

Agility is better. It allows you to take mental quickness or whatever which gives you 80% more spell damage from SP. Agility also gives spell crit and it allows you to benefit a lot from both stats and especially hybrid gear with spell power on it (not intellect)

Chaos burn might be interesting to card, as it's shadowflame and not just fire like regular chaos bolt. Does felstorm reset the CD on Chaos Meteor? It doesn't seem to work for Emberstorm...

Thats also a good option i didt think off, and special since its shadowflame! Hm, emberstorm should reset Chaos Meteor. It did in older season, so might be a bug

@@paulhabasescu7602 other options would instead be tether elemental or enslave demon for the pet passives that give 5% dmg, and 5% dmg reduction the reason for corruption is that i believe there is a talent that buff chaos bolt dmg by molten core. Think i meantion it in the video somewhere
