The Shed of Dreams ES 335 build Episode 22: Installing inlays.

Hi and welcome to episode 22 of the Shed of Dreams ES 335 guitar build series. With the fretboard dimensioned and slotted it’s time to position, mark out and inlay the position markers. This is likely to be a tricky job and as I have chosen to use only hand tools to do it there is a chance it could take quite some time!

Hey I just got one of those mini veritas planes, absolutely ideal for making a truss rod channel that hair deeper! nice work on inlays, looking good

Thanx mate , I'm doing away with boring round pearl inlays and going to try my hand at putting in rectangular one similar to your shapes here for my Taylor acoustic. I have my ebony slotted fretboard blank, so this is the very first step I have to do for my fret board replacement. I haven't started yet , but I happened to stumble on your KZbin video and its been very helpful in theory. I hope I can apply it as well as you . Thanx again , cheers from australia

This was the first time I'd done something like this and it was more straight forward than I thought it would be. Take your time and I'm sure it will be fine, good luck.

Love watching inlay being put in. I've always used a dremel to get the bulk out and finished off with mini chisels, love your methodical approach though. Great job, great series.
