@ThaiLifeChronicles I have always wanted to visit Thailand. Whenever the wifey has a bad day at work, I always joke that we could just sell everything and go live out the rest of our days in Thailand 🤣. Such a beautiful country, I definitely need to go at some point. Congrats! 👏🏾

I am gen z. I live way below my means to maintain my lifestyle (An average month of spending for me is 1k or less). I may be a boring person and not go out and do much but I save a lot. My current goal is to achieve F.I.R.E. within the next 10 years.

I was pushing hard for F.I.R.E. for a long time, but the closer I got the more I moved the goal post and realized I was only really interested in the F.I. part. I'm always going to be doing something.

@@talkhiggins You can still be F.I.R.E. and work. There are different types of fire. BaristaFIRE is pretty much what you just described and is what I plan to do as well. Having something to do like work is always good.

Problem is people need to start operating their life as if they are a business. Income in, expenses out. People my age brag about leaving parents house but I’m happy to stay as long as I can to save as much as I can. 22 and 23k in savings. Nowhere near where I want to be but a pretty good start

As a Gen Z... I make about $25 an hour, I don't go out, don't drink, don't smoke, etc. Still living paycheck to paycheck because the cost of living is too high. I make more than I did 2 years ago, but my finances are worse I'm just lucky I'm a student. So my grant money is a source of income at this point. I have scholarships that fully cover my tuition, so I take out student loans when needed. I just think of it as a necessary investment for now, as I know I'll make more in the future. By the time I'll graduate I'll likely have 20k in debt simply from living expenses.

School's so expensive these days, it's almost impossible to get through without debt. I hope you at least enjoy your career after all that. 🤞🎓

Wow, that's awesome! Reaching Coast FI is a huge milestone. You've definitely put in a lot of hard work and made some sacrifices to get here. Just make sure you're not going overboard and missing out on things that could make your life better right now. You never know what the future holds, so it's important to find a balance between saving for the future and enjoying the present. Congrats 🎉

@talkhiggins i am lucky. I like my job and I make enough that I can go on several vacations a year and invest over 25%. This year alone i went on 4 vacations and maxed out my Roth 401k and Roth IRA 😁😁😁
