I too had a sexually abusive dad from as far back as l can remember, from the age of three when he used to change my panties when I had an accident. It continued until the age of 16 when I had a nervous breakdown and told him I hated him and not to touch me ever again. He punched me in my face and knocked me out. When I came to he had me in his arms crying and I freaked out jumped away from him screaming don’t touch me, don’t touch me!! He had taken me out of school in the 10th grade so after that incident he padlocked my bedroom door and nailed down my windows. My mom was aware of this and gave me a large coffee can to do my business in. It stayed that way till I was 18 years old. One evening while he was working he forgot to lock me up and my oldest brothers friend came over to show us his new car and he also had a crush on me and had asked my dad if he could take me out because he used to come over for dinner. But my dad kept saying no,we don’t know you that well. This one time when he came to show us his new car,he asked me if I would like to take a ride in it and I accepted. We were gone probably for an hour as we went down to the beach. When I got home my dad was waiting with a sawed off shotgun and tried to pull me out of the car, but my friend who was into Marshall arts managed to take the gun from him and told me to run. I was so terrified because my father used to beat me like he was fighting a man. I only weighed about 85 lbs. once when he beat me you couldn’t even recognize me because my face was so mangled and bruised. My lip was cut up, my eyes were so puffed up, I barely could see, only out of one eye that was also just enough to squint out of. I looked like I came out of a horror movie. It took more than a month before I started looking half way normal again. With this in mind I was not going to let my dad get hold of me again. As I was running I could hear him chasing me and getting closer. I kept praying to God not to let him catch me. At one point he almost caught me. I felt the wind from his hand as he tried to grab me and with the fear in me I started picking up speed and then I was confronted with a six foot stone wall and petrified I asked God to please send his angels to lift me up and over the wall. I felt myself running and jumping and although I was scraped up a bit I made it over the wall and into freedom. I am a small person. Only 5 foot 3.It was about 8 o’clock at night and I fell over into an automobile junk yard. I ran into one of the abandoned cars and stayed there until morning. I went to one of my friends house and told her what happened and she took me in. Till this day I often see that brick wall in my thoughts and even went to see it later as an adult. I have no idea how I scaled that wall. Ever since that incident,it’s brought me closer to God and I also believe in Angels. I knew they helped me that day. I went on in life to have quite a few more adventures where I called upon my Angels. I am 78 years old now but the abuse from my father has affected my life in so many ways. He went on to abuse my sister and my daughter. And that’s another story. I am single to this day because this abuse has affected my relationships with men. I have been through counseling but I continue to have bad dreams about my dad. I even have dreams where I’m chopping him up with an axe and yelling in my dreams for him to die. When he did die I never attended his funeral. He didn’t deserve my acknowledgment even in death. When he died I felt a heavy weight lift off my shoulders. I hope if there is a hell, that’s where he went!! And I hope all you child predators end up in hell too. You only think of self gratification instead of a precious life you’re affected. You all should be castrated and shot to death.

As a survivor of repeated incest by my only sibling, I feel your pain. I also admire your strength and courage. I didn’t go through even a fraction of what you did though. I couldn’t tell my mother until I was 21. She didn’t believe me. When I was 32, my niece told her father, that this same abuser, had been molesting her. My parents refused to believe that was true. I told my father why I felt my niece was telling the truth, because of what he’d done to me. I did this through a letter. He never said a word about it. My sibling was convicted in two different counties for molesting my niece. He got nearly a total of twenty years in prison. My mother believed in his innocence to the day she died. My father and I discussed it briefly, since my mother died, and he says he believes me. I haven’t had contact with my brother, except in the ICU when our mother was dying, for nearly thirty years. I’m still not sure if my dad really believes me or not. Thank you for your very personal story. May you have peace and happiness.

My grandma was telling me a story that she only mentioned once but it stuck with me. And it was how her mother ran away from home because her father and uncles were molesting her and she married a man 3x her age when she was only 14 and she talked about how much that disgusted her that her dad was so old. The suffering of women in general goes untold but ESPECIALLY black women. The common suffering of being in a society that doesn't give a damn about you and the generational trauma of abuse coming from all directions

The calmness that she has while speaking of this horrific trauma is amazing. The things that happen to children behind closed doors seem to be coming almost “normal” and those who should be protecting them are the worst offenders. As horrible that her experiences are, I hope she and her children have peace and that she can give someone else who has/is experiencing something similar the courage to get help. God bless her

I think her calmness comes from it being her normal and not really knowing to be upset about what was happening until she found out that it wasn't right.

Devilish indeed…there’s no way around it. A father is the first to protect their child from predators, not become the very nightmare he’s supposed to protect her from. This is why The Bible says we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, the things people do are far from what it seems on the surface; this is demonic and this guy’s job is to keep renewing this demonic covenant through his filthy acts. Disgusting.

Why should they feel shame, that takes away joy. These people understand that. U go take ur finger pointing and wagging somewhere else. Why dont u point it at the predators instead. U wrote a comment pointing at her, how many comments u wrote pointing about a child rapist? Let me guess ZERO. U go think about yourself and ur ridiculous mentality.
