The husband was all talk, he wasn't willing to put in the work and do the heavy lifting to make his dream come true. His now ex-wife had to step in and take on the role of the head, a role that was not meant for her and she found herself overwhelmed and out of her depth.

Possibly later he thought his wife was suited best for You Tube and it brought an income. She taught he was missing the opportunity to be a consultant or help in the construction for viewers ,who were his wife fans who constantly were asking questions because he was previously in construction. Eventually it appeared her husband wanted to focus on his own business in construction which wasnot fast or possibly profitable enough for her. At least, the husband didnot join You tube and competited with her for viewers. My point they had different goals, possible ideas of how to achieve financial mobility, not everyone have the same skill sets.Remember Dela said she never wanted to be a regular worker , maybe her husband was different.

I could definitely relate with Dela regarding the dynamic relationship between mother and daughter. I'm still dealing with years of trauma by overcoming and letting go since I uprooted my life 8 months ago to get far away from the toxicity. My mom is just suppress, oppress and depress from her own past that she simply doesn't want to let go. If I stayed around in that space, she would have broke me down to cry insanity. My mom is carrying a heavy laden and I believe it haunts her every day. She was born and raised into a Haitian culture that she's seen too much of the dark side. IYKTYK.

Re-watching this interview and I just have to chime in and say women who go through stuff like that for real. Don’t normally say anything until they’re tired and done. It’s not a matter of hiding or anything else it’s a matter of being in a marriage and working on it not wanting to down Your spouse. I’ve known several women in the same situations. It’s extremely hard for them to go back and explain themselves. Normally the spouse goes around, telling lies as well, and the women have to come behind that and defend themselves and I have seen it become extremely tiring. Sometimes the best thing women can do is to put it behind and not try to go justify themselves to everybody. She was more driven economically than her husband. He saw her ability and foolishly said" I was one who did everything now I am tired" after awhile they both thought each was doing too much in the relationship.

We have to go back to the African traditional ways where a woman before getting married needs approval of the family before getting married. The poor relationship with her father and the missing link needs to be explored.

Her relationship with her father will determine the relationship with men . Her lack of a male role model like her father has effected her current relationship. A male figure in a girls life is the foundation for any man she chooses. A woman without a father figure in her life will always effect her future relationship because she has nothing to compare them too .

Most African women do not agree to move back to Africa with their husbands after tasting life abroad for several years. They don’t care abandoning their husbands at the stage that their husbands need them most in their advanced age. There are many men living in Africa alone now after sending their wives abroad. The woman will simply not come back with you.
