You did it! I have been shooting recurve bows for over 50 years and that is the most AWESOME recurve bow I have ever seen! You have created the most AWESOME takedown hunting bow known to man! You created the bow that I have been dreaming about and talking about for years! A two piece takedown super short recurve! I asked several bowyers here in america to try making one and was told that it would be "impossible". Well you just proved them wrong! Your skill , creativity , and craftmanship are beyond words. I have been bowhunting for over 50 years and would LOVE to take one of these bows to the woods with me! If you ever make one of these to sell please let me know as I would love to be your first customer! Congratulations on a job very well done!

Would Love to see you build this in a one piece as well using the old Bear super magnum style riser and grip! The newer style Bear super Mags are NOT the same as the old ones so don't have the same feel as the old ones. If you can get your hands on a VINTAGE Super magnum you will have a good pattern to work off of. The grip on the old Super Mags molds perfectly to your hand. A Bear Super Mag in 36" would be AWESOME!

I will try to find one, it is probably my favorite bow on the market, 36 inch version would be perfect! Thanks for idea!

I've watched this video twice now and I'm blown away that you were able to make such a short takedown. It's a shame we live on opposite sides of the world as I would love to see and handle that bow in person. I wouldn't be able to handle that much draw weight though as I'm an old fart now! Maybe try making a short one piece next? Anyway great job!

Thanks a lot friend! If you for some crazy reason came to Balkan peninsula let me know!🤣 I will try one piece, think i can go even shorter with one piece, we will see…

I love the work man,I believe everyone should have their bows made to their drawlength so that we don’t have unnecessary weight,length. That will always help with a bows performance. Great work!

Ingenious! Only with such a short draw length, you can have such a step 30degree angle backwards,this takes you a few inches away from your powerstroke-but the bow is well made, extremely short! Also like the glasfiber-textile as way to fixate the limbs, no sanding required. Maybe you want to investigate „Manchu“ style shooting with its overdraw techniques? You will win like an 15cm powerstroke~18m/sec more to compensate for short draw length? Of course, building up a new anchor point-close to chest height, not eye height-is hard work. But the performance gain is serious. And you can shoot bows of normal size, normal strength again (40-60lbs) and achieve the same arrow speeds or more. And explore bows with heavy tips and heavy arrows.
@HelmbowmanАй бұрын
Thanks a lot, i will explore that! Only thing is i like having short arrows, about 26inches because of transport, they fit into small bag on hunting trips. My normal draw length is 28 inches, but over the years i develop shooting style to accommodate 26 inch arrows, less powerstroke but works for me… Thanks for advices friend!

@@Helmbowman Ah, hunting is the discipline! My respect- one of the most challenging bow shooting disciplines. And I see why you go for short bows/arrows then..allthough, 26.5inches is really *very* short, I am surprised it does not destabilize the arrow flight more, and it also takes you away some mass from the arrow, that will be missing for the impact. I guess you then take heavier materials for your arrows ? aluminium shaft, or filled with sand ? but that might slow down the arrow flight too much. Anyway- I guess you know "Clay Hayes" Channel here on youtube? A bow hunter, and an excellent bowyer. But with traditional materials only. If not, check out some of his videos, for the case you plan to do something with wood/sinew again at some point. He also built a more exotic bow type as a penobscot one.
@HelmbowmanАй бұрын
@recursr1892 I use regular carbon arrows, but put a weight in the front, usually use 6mm steel round stock that i glue in the shaft which gives me really high F.O.C, and excellent arrow flight… I watch Clay for sure, he has amazing videos!

@@Helmbowman at what draw length does it stack? I have a couple of limbs I want to make a short bow. Once I finish my limb setup testing rig. It's well on its way now I'll make a video when it's done.
@HelmbowmanАй бұрын
Its starts to stack at about 27 inches, i build this specifically for my draw length, if you want longer draw you can put even higher limb angle and do a forward handle, that will allow for couple more inches of draw length. Cant wait to see video bro, keep it going!

Too bad to hear that bro… I always shoot minimum 10gpp and never had that problem, im not too much into speed so i dont mind heavy arrows. Thanks for watching and take care!

🙄👁️👁️🙈 Why no Chrono test to determine the speed of the arrows 😲🤔❓🤪
