I don't think the Explosive legendary effect is a bug when it's applied to each pellet. I believe that was intended. As the Explosive legendary effect is supposed to be applied for each projectile, not each shell.

Also, how would you even program it to have just one explosion? Which pellet would the effect be applied to? I believe that you are correct, it was intended (and much more fun).

@thefrozenyak52722 жыл бұрын
@@quadroninja2708 The balance is that getting an explosive combat shotgun in the first place is a matter of pure luck (I've never had one myself), and the spread effect of shotguns means that you have to be fairly close to get maximum damage, possibly within range of the explosions yourself. The explosive effect is powerful, but has a risk factor for the player involved. I've blown myself up by stupidly deciding that the explosive minigun is the way to go in confined spaces.

No, a shotgun with a barrel length under 18ninches is called a Short Barreled Shotgun. The ATF classifies a "sawed-off" or "sawn-off" as a shotgun that has had it's Original barrel cut down; and is illegal under the NFA to do or possess without it being registered to the ATF by a FFL holder with the proper license type to manufacture and Class 3 paperwork; making it either an SBS, Destructive Device or AOW. A Serbu Shorty is an example of shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18 inches and it's not classified as a "sawn-off" - it's also not classified as a SBS. A Streetsweeper can have barrel length under 18 inches and is classified as a Destructive Device.

If the fallout 3 combat shotgun works as I imagine it must, the rounds must be propelled from the drum magazine through the tube under the barrel then popped up into the chamber, where in theory the whole barrel would reciprocate. Of course, in order for the barrel to reciprocate it would need to draw gas from the firing chamber to cycle the gun, and since there is no room behind the ejection port, the gun must have a fixed firing pin, which also makes no sense because the gun is charged by pulling a handle to the rear and letting go, much like the SKS, which is also weird because the SKS uses a falling block action and... You know what, I'm reading too far into this.

Bullpup shotguns are surprisingly becoming more common and mainstream in the civilian US market. The last few years had a influx of turkish bullpup shotguns flooding the country. You're really close on the whole shotgun gauge system but not quite there. The number of the gauge is the number of spherical lead balls of that diameter it would take to equal one pound. So a 12 gauge shoots a lead ball that is 1/12th of a pound. There were several really minor inaccuracies throughout the video but only lifelong gun nerds like myself would notice and none of it really matters much. Overall great video.

The Explosive Legendary aplying to all pellets is NOT a "bug" (it´s a FEATURE!), but is "working as intended". After all the idea of an explosive projectile comes to pass whether you use single fire or full auto as well, and a shotgun is just a variation of that, dispersing several projectiles at one pull of the trigger. The faster firing rate (all at once) is just the countereffect to the heavier weight of the weapon.
@wjmackenzie9553 жыл бұрын
I would agree. Hard to call it a bug when Bethesda clearly understands it's own game well enough to know how the legendary effects work and has deliberately placed in some overpowered effect/weapon type combos (aeternus, anyone?) And it's just gonna be a fact that some legendary effects are better than others, and certain legendary effects are going to be much better one one type of weapon than they are on another type of weapon.
@sim.frischh97813 жыл бұрын
@@wjmackenzie955 Oh yes. I never understood why the Poison Legendary is so underpowered because it´s one of those "more helps more" kind of effects. Same with fire, that should stack as well, as the enemy is more and more engulfed in flames. Bleeding stacks, which makes sense to SOME degree, once enough wounds are open you no longer can bleed because the pressure in your veins are gone. And it does work on Robots, which makes sense as they can have hydraulic fluids, battery acid and cooling liquids they could "bleed". But them being immune against Poison is questionable, the poison could be corrosive! Radioactivity is an interesting one, but kinda wonky to use in FO due to how it can heal certain enemies.
