The Sienna has one huge advantage in MPG but three giant knocks against it in my book which are that the middle row isn't designed to come out, that in top trims you are limited to 7 passengers instead of 8, and that you can't get them without a long wait and/or a big markup. The markups mean that even with the better MPG, you may never recoup the cost difference with the Odyssey which can be had for thousands less in equivalent trim levels. For me the middle seat situation in top trims is a deal breaker. I need 8 people and I need sometimes to take out the seats.

Sienna has very few days on market because its demand is greater than supply/production. However, most recent numbers that I've seen have shown that the Honda Odyssey has had higher annual sales numbers than the Sienna. One source listed annual sales of Odyssey in 2022 and 2023 as 47,615 and 71,511 and for the Sienna, 20,061 and 32,825. That being said, the Sienna had >100k sold in 2021, the first year of its refresh and transition to hybrid powertrain

@yazars you have done your homework. :-) The last 5 years of sales data is so crazy. Covid really caused the auto industry to go haywire. There are still many lingering effects of Covid with chip availability, pricing surges, lack of inventory for some manufacturers, the ebb and flow of EV demand, interest rate hikes, etc. Once Covid has been in our rearview for 5 or more years, then we can see trends for sales numbers that makes sense with little to no outside pressures.

Living in Southwest we found the Honda has horrible ventilation in 2nd and 3rd rows because they no longer have ceiling vents. Driving the Sienna around was very comparable to Honda at lower speeds but feels a little sluggish when trying to accelerate to higher speeds however still adequate, definitely not at sporty as Odyssey. However, city driving showed between 36 and 40 mpg while cruising in traffic, incredible mpg. We ultimately went with 2023 Sienna Limited and have loved it so far over past year of ownership. Overall MPG for city and highway we have averaged 37mpg. Performance has been just fine out of hybrid engine and Toyota warranties the Hybrid battery system for 10 yrs or 150k miles. @Chadscarcomps lmao. 🤷♂️I guess ya. Awesome review. My sister needs something a lot bigger for her cooking school for all the things she totes back and forth to the class. She also wants good gas mileage because she drives a good 35 minutes each way Karma but it doesn't look like the Honda is as good as I once thought for gas mileage. I thought somewhere I read that it's like 35 MPG or more but the more I look it's like only 20 something. And it doesn't look like that 2025 is ever coming around in the way they promised.

Probably a good idea to thank my subscribers. I hadn’t thought of that, honestly. But I will work that into future videos. 😀

You didn't cover one of the most important features of the odyssey... The Magic Slide second row! This is why ppl with kids get this van. You really got a lot wrong with this review. First of all don't compare a 3 yr old top of the line to a brand new basic model. Then make sure you get your facts right before you review. This was a pretty awful excuse of a review. Using floaty for an adjective to describe how the sienna drives? We love our odyssey but you didn't do it justice.

The grocery getter? I use my Sienna to haul heavy loads, landscaping material, moving furniture...you are not giving it the respect it deserves.
