I watched it for the first time when i was +- 10yo, and it left a great impact on me, but it didn't really understand it untill i was maybe 18 or so. Imagine going back in time, invite your friends over, splicing this into a commercial of a vcr recording of an episode of "Home Improvement". --- "Hey that looks good, let's go see it.". "Right now?". "Yeah". 😏

What's crazy is, this film produces such an emotional response ....Changing the score and narration ....You still can't pull it off

If 1980s Billy Crystal replaced Anthony Hopkins this could actually work.

I was thinking, even with the Rom Com narration and soundtrack, Hopkins is still creepy as hell.

This is amazing because it actually shows how much influence a trailer can have. If you showed this to someone with absolutely zero knowledge at all about this film, I bet you really could pass this off to them as a romantic comedy based on this trailer.

Fun fact... Hannibal and Clarice do in fact become lovers in the Hannibal novel...

Hannibal: I have no plans to call on you, Clarice. The world's more interesting with you in it. So, you take care now to extend me the same courtesy. Clarice: You know I can't make that promise. Hannibal: I do wish we could chat longer but...I'm having an old friend for dinner. Bye. --Excerpt from the movie.

This edit proves all these trailers are pure hype. Impressively done! Would have been something to try this trailer out for a week or so and see the reaction of the couples going to see the movie! I'll be a lot of YT moments could have been captured thusly!
