Simon is quite simply inspirational - he’s been my coach for some time - the first time I saw him I was at the point of giving up the game after over 30 years - I hated it - within 10 minutes of my first lesson he had given me back the love of the game and over time has taken it to a level I thought I could only dream of - a precious gift - not only a truly inspirational teacher but an inspirationally positive individual. Love all your videos Liam but this one was something very special. I applaud you both 👏👏👏👏 AW

Finally, a golf coach who actually knows what he's talking about! So many coaches are obsessed with aesthetics but you can't get the aesthetics unless you first understand the concept of the swing, starting with feeling the weight of the clubhead and then learning impact. And now Liam is getting on a much better swing plane after stopping that silly takeaway move. I really hope Liam keeps following this guy because he is pure gold. He is also from the line of teaching of Ernest Jones and Manuel de la Torre.

I've watched this about half a dozen times and watching again tonight as a refresher because I'm heading out to Murcia on Tuesday for four rounds of stableford. I try to keep everything from this video in my head - pressure 3, at address, backswing and release. When I step on to the first tee, I'm hoping I remember "3 Better questions!". And as you said, that analogy of Simon's of hitting a little lay up, really is a light bulb moment. Brilliant video, by a guy who explains it all so clearly.

Hi Liam, watched this video last Friday on FB, went out Saturday morning and shot 79 gross off 12, won the comp beating 115 fellow club golfers, and all because of this great instructional tip. Just said P3 (pressure level) every time i gripped the club. Not won in 2.5 years and turned 60 last week. Was so impressed with Simon that I went to trouble of calling him at Carus Green this morning and gave him a much deserved pat on the back. His instructional method is just simple to follow exactly what simple golfers need. Great work bud.

I like most amateurs have spent years changing from one method to another, all of which work with limited success. The key thing I take from this video is that we have to let the club swing into the right positions as it’s designed to without any interference from ourselves ie manipulating. This surely must be the best approach for more consistent golf and put an end to the cycle of doom that most of us experience. Thanks for the video, inspiring and well explained.

This guy is fantastic. He breaks down the swing into something very simple and easy. (1) Find your pressure at a 3 out of 5, (2) keep that same pressure constant throughout the swing, and (3) let the toe of the club turnover. Use these 3 things for all clubs, minus the putter. Keep all other thoughts out. Liam, this guy is a keeper and thanks for sharing. Wish he was in my neck of the world. Cheers

Ernest Jones was one of the greatest golf coaches ever. He lost part of a leg in WW1 and went to America in the early 1920's and made a fortune teaching ' swing the clubhead ' Great golfers know of his teachings and respect him highly. Hogan knew this and Mo Norman said Jones was the greatest golf coach ever and David Leadbetter holds him in the highest esteem. I was taught to use the clubhead when starting to play golf in the early 1970's and was down to 4 handicap in two years. Dr Kwon on You Tube teaches 'Swing, Swing ' and swinging the clubhead repeatedly is the best thing a golfer can do. I taught and understood this after my friendship and coaching from Ryder Cup player Jimmy Adams and through this my coaching my pupils improved in less than a couple of minutes.

Hi Liam This is one of the best videos I've seen and it helped me immediately to straighten out my drives where I've had a problem almost for ever (first joined a golf club in 1991!) of going over the top and slicing. It's also improving my irons which I've struggled with in recent times. Even though my age now starts with an 8, I'm still keen to improve my game and be more consistent and get it nearer to how it used to be. In the lessons I've had previously, I can't recall anyone talking about grip pressure. It's been a revelation. Thank you.

I watched this a couple of times and did some rehearsals at home. Today I went to the range and this feeling of keeping the grip pressure a constant 3 immediately fixed my worst habit of pulling down from the top and hitting low heel shots. I started right away to find the center of the face more easily and I felt the face squaring itself and releasing with little effort. this coach does something that I think a lot of coaches struggle with and he nailed it at the end. He wants to get you hitting better as fast as possible. So many coaches will make you break down your swing and rebuild it back up in their model/standard/image... and it's crap because no two swings look the same... and the most important part of the golf swing is what happens the moment at impact... I think so many coaches are trying to ensure their longevity by getting people to keep coming back for 9 months worth of lessons as they rebuild a swing.

I wonder why it is that after thousands of videos all talking about clearing the hips and turning to square the club face, suddenly, in the last couple of weeks these swing the club head videos (Ernest Jones) have all started appearing. Mike Malaska's L to L drill has been a mainstay of mine for a while, as will be the newly found Wasatch Golf and Dan Alton Golf describing the same - but this video is so simply demonstrated. Great stuff

Jaw dropping. Making golf so simple. I tried this on my simulator. Played 9 holes in par. Never done that before. Can’t wait to go on the golf course. Simply brilliant.

Absolutely brilliant vid and insight. For the past 50 years, I've always gripped the club so tight, my fingers ache after 9 holes. Reason - I'm scared the club will fly off down the fairway. Can't wait to try this out asap. Best use of 25 minutes of my time watching this over and over again. Forget all the other vids I've watched on all aspects of the swing, this is the one that has made sooo much sense. Thanks Golf M8s and Simon 👍👍👍👍👍

I cannot begin to describe how good that video is. I had a lesson 2 nights ago which was a total disaster. The main takeaway I took was that I was gripping the club too much. 2 range visits later with a much relaxed grip, I'm hitting the best iron shots ever. However nobody has explained it as well as this. Thank you so much for such an informative video.

A pot of gold, fun and a lesson. Liam you looked worried having to answer questions, did it remind you of school again. Best of all this is a lesson that I’ve never heard before!

This was an excellent, excellent lesson! I find myself sometimes on the range trying to get out of the 1,000 things running through my head and just focus on the micro - things like grip pressure and arm tension. If you have those 2 things going for you, you can play good golf. Let the club do what it was designed to do.
