Ok I want to do the roof room with the glass roof on a tiny house but when I use the glass roof it takes away the floor/ceiling under it. How do I make it keep the floor? I'm playing on Xbox

Why is it that when I put a roof on the ground it immediately disappears and I have to put it back up? For example, when I put a roof on the ground imitating a car driveway and then put something on the plot, the roof disappears.
