My surviving siblings and I are from the so called Silent Generation, but I don't recall us being particularly silent. I read most of what Francis Schaeffer wrote back when he wrote them. I remember the episodes presented in the church I was attending, "How Then Shall We Live." We knew back then that he was prophetic.

As a believer of 40 yrs, my pastor was taught by LS Chafer at DTS. Nonetheless i find Doug Wilson sincere erudite and compelling, obvious differences notwithstanding. This video is a call to follow the colours. This is my contribution; i hear and see so little from pastors regarding the filling of the Holy Spirit. In 1 John we are informed that in order to have fellowship with God, we cannot be walking in darkness, this is addressed to believers. If we confess our sins to God, we are forgiven and restored to fellowship and no longer walk in darkness. Therefore we walk in the light. To walk in the light is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. How many believers confess their sins with immediacy? Therein lies a serious problem, the foot soldiers that we have, do not seek the filling of the Holy Spirit by holding themselves to account with a full knowledge of sin and the filthy rags which are included in the 'all unrighteousness' cleansing from God.

Mr. Wilson is not the only one who has forecast our present time. However he is the one of the only ones who sees himself as the only one. The Church has a prophetic voice to society and it's called the Gospel which does include the law of God. Chrisitan citizens who believe the Gospel may greatly influence their Church, society and nation. But they are not to select one man as a "prince" to officially lead them in both arenas. That is a horrifying prospect.

Fourth Turning is very good. (Taleb's book is just silly.) Love the kamikaze metaphor, though. I too see all the craziness as a sign of desperation. However, just to extend the metaphor, the kamikazes did do a lot of damage and gave the USN, at least, considerable pause about how costly the invasion of the Home Islands would be. Which is why the USN wanted to blockade rather than invade. Blockading here = boycotting.
