Many supervisors, managers etc have no desire to be a leader. Not faulting them, but most people are just trying to make the most money they can in the 9-5 arena which typically requires becoming a manager. An extreme minority of people look to personal development to better themselves. In some ways it is a luxury to be watching content like this. So let's be grateful. And good job to anyone who is spending their own valuable free time trying to make a better life for themselves and presumably their colleagues.

I could not agree more with this guy. I love standing back and watching young guys figure it out. It's hard to bite your tongue sometimes but it's fun.

My advice is to start with the most recent and work backward. The older videos are starting to look and sound old. Been at this for over 7 years now!

Never realized I was a "situational" leader. I train. Then verify. After that my leadership is only needed in emergency situations. If they want growth I can't give them I point them in the direction they need to go, then move on. I always considered myself an "indifferent" leader but it fostered a lot of loyalty.

Hi, John. Awesome. I find that most training and coaching-centered leaders end up having strong Situational qualities because they know people need solid skills do succeed.

As always, thank you for such quality content. How do you recommend dealing with someone who has skill and will, but also a lot of ego (e.g. my way or the highway, superiority complex, etc...)? It can impact the culture of the team.

Hm. Interesting question. Are you the person's official supervisor? If so, then you can coach them to work more cooperatively with others and show that others have value to add as well. If you are not their supervisor, then you can give their supervisor feedback about the employee if you believe it is worth it. Either way, that's a task that is best left to the person's official supervisor.

@@alexanderlyon Thank you. I am not the official supervisor. But the cross team collaboration is quite frequent. Unfortunately, their manager is quite defensive about his entire team.

This can be a tough one. In today's environment, getting skilled/motivated workers seems to be an oxymoron. Many graduating from high school, or with general degrees from liberal colleges, are loaded with debt, but!....they have been indoctrinated into woke.ness. LOL. The results can be disturbing...to say the least. Entitled young people usually are useless, unless they can be turned around...usually too late by adulthood...this observation first hand, coming from professional encounters, and watching responsible media, who are on the same wave length, as those of us who function in the real world of shared responsibilities. In closing, thanks for your video.
