Looking good. I like the contrast between the colour and the dark stained timber pieces. I love your hand made oars. Part 4 next. 👍

I was pleasantly surprised how well the oars turned out. I will definitely try that again. I think you’ll like finished look in part 4. I’m actually going to do a little touch up painting on the hull, but the series is finished. I’m making good progress on my next project too: kzbin.info/aero/PLjMZtm2hvqrNJM7eqpLw7LdEJf4cN58xw&si=R0UT7Qs4LgFJRTzp

@alankirkatrick1620 Totally different! I still plan on building The Flying Dutchman, but I wanted to try something new. It’s HUGE…. Much longer than anything I’ve tried before. I did a little research and it turns out that there’s no information about the actual color of paddle wheel ship. In looking at old photos, the hull isn’t white as pictured on the box…. So I’m taking liberty and changing up some things. It’s a little refreshing to start something new and untried! As always, Thanks for following along,👍👍

Looks good! How you liking the new airbrush machine? I saw that you can actually use the air to dry the paint faster as you go, and if you keep the air going it prevents the tip from clogging so much. It looks great and looks like a lot of fun! I'm not into models like I was in my youth, but watching this may get me into the ships.

I’m enjoying the airbrush, it’ll take some time to be really good with it. But it is great for creating shadows. I’m building a large steamer paddle wheel ship that I tried airbrush a wall, but I think I got it too wet on thin wood and it started to warp a little. But you’re right, if you control the airflow correctly it basically dries as you go. I’ve gotten much better with airflow clearing the pathway so it doesn’t get clogged. I’m completely enjoying modeling in my retirement years….. I have time to work on the craft between vacations 😂. Thanks for watching!👍👍
