I would like to add that, while Dwarves believe the path of the slayer is to seek death in battle, it is not the actual intent. The path of the slayer was made to be a pilgrimage on which Dwarves can travel in order to regain their honour, and return to their people afterward. Gotrek is the only Dwarf to actualy complete the true slayer path.

@@parallax7789 No, no it's actually quite good. Some might even call DA:O great. But Warhammer fantasy predated Dragon Age by a few decades. Just listen to that video and then remember the Dwarven Legion of the Dead from the Dragon Age series. You can clearly see the inspiration. Dragon Age Origins was a good game, but I sincerely thought the game was a lot more original then it is. They took the elves and subverted the usual tropes. They added a pinch of African slavery in the US, a bit of civil war era fighting and then topped it all off with some medieval inspired Jewish ghettos. It might not have been the most relevant social commentary, but there's nothing wrong with remembering history, even if it's in a fictionalized form. After all, those that forget history are doomed to repeat it. But I really thought there was a lot more original stuff in there than there apparently was. Seriously, I haven't been this shocked by this level of similarity since I first read on Warhammer Fatasy and Warhammer 40k and Blizzards Warcraft and Starcraft series.

Dragon Age Origins was a great game. Might not be as flashy as the newer stuff, but that is a rock solid story. As for the whole idea of nothing truly being new, it is hard to find out where the bottom of the rabbit hole is. I know a number of old science-fiction stories, religious stories, folklore, anything else you can name that influence Warhammer 40K. It's still my favorite setting in the world. At the end of the day nearly every story has been told already at this point. It's just trying to find a combination that hasn't been utilized yet.

Oh come on, the Slayer Oath can be taken at any Shrine of Grimnir, not just the one in Karak Kadrin, the one in the Slayer Keep is simple the most popular one. Slayers often immediately go off to a glorious Doom after their oaths are sworn at any Shrine available, that way they can seek atonement immediately after their disgrace.

They aren't going to pull any punches as they want to die in a fair fight. So if they just so happen to beat the dragon and not die like they were hoping, they failed in their goal. They don't care for the accolade as they just want death at the hands of the strongest beast they can find.

Love this channel and all you do, but some things really quick! 1) All Slayers have to go to Karak Kadrin to swear on the slayer's shrine. - This is incorrect. While it is something a lot of them do, it is not a requirement. As long as they take the slayers vow somewhere, that is all that matters. Gotrek did not do this. 2) Slayers always use axes as it is there weapon. While it is said in most video games and in the table top this was very true, in the novels for Gotrek and Felix, this was not true. Snorri and many other slayers that followed them did not in fact use just an axe, and there was even a slayer who used gunpowder and an organ gun. Keep up the great work though!
