Revenge is sweet, isn’t it? I analyze Round 2 between Garrett Adelstein & Dylan Gang on The Hustler Casino Live. Round 1 saw Dylan painfully slowroll Garrett but karma always finds a way to get you back!
I break down each street in this massive $390,000 pot and discuss the poker strategy applied by these two players that have a history against each other. Who is excited for Round 3?

There was this guy who was quite annoying at the table, also was a maniac. Would show bluffs and laugh at your face. I had a tight image, That guy opened, someone else 3bet MP, I 4bet shoved with 52o in the SB. Part trying to use my tight image, part to balence my range. Alright he got into my head. Only Maniac called. This time he got it with AJo I turned a pair of 5s and won. The table became more enjoyable afterwards.

I used to play at this home game where the host's elderly father would do things like not open his hand when all-in (tournament), slow roll, and turn only one card over in hopes his opponent would muck. It was deliberate and repeatedly, it held up the game, and he'd even try to play it off like he didn't know the rule or he was "old and slow". Players who had been there for years just kinda put up with him because the host was his son. I waited til I made the nuts then bet river small to to induce which worked like a charm, he bluff jammed all in. I called and sat quietly while he rolled over one card. Still just sat quietly until he finally turned the 2nd card over before turning over the nuts. He nearly flipped the table but he never pulled his antics on me again 😂

He immediately flips his cards over and starts clapping and cheering very loudly as if to embarrass me and rub salt in my wound for the whole table to see. The look on his face was priceless when the dealer pushes the pot to me after I flipped my cards over. The river had double paired the board counterfeiting his flopped full house. Fave revenge story: my first live MTT at the Trop AC in 2005, some $50 freeze out on a random weekday. I'm in the BB, we are still out of the money and I have like 20 BB. BTN (3 BB stack) open limps, SB folds, I jam 62o, he calls and doubles up. "Thanks for the donation!" he says as he scoops in the pot. Fast forward to the Final Table. Mr. Donation guy from earlier wants to chop as soon as the final table started, I am one of a few holdouts. As we lose a few more players, down to 5, I am the last holdout but won't chop. Our Villain gets AIPF against me, QJo vs my KK. Down to 5 outs on the river (he flopped a pair) he misses and is out at 5th. As soon as the river fell, I announced to the table that I was willing to chop.

Those always feel good. I'm still pretty new to serious poker but I had a guy basically saying my play was bad. I called his 2BB raise on a turn and beat him with a small flush. Later though with this same guy I had AsQc. I was at 15BB in a bounty tournament. Flop comes J73 all spades. He raises and I jam with about 10BB after the preflop action. He tanks for like 3min and then calls with Jc5c. Anyway I hit the flush on the river and he tries to say that it was a bad play. I'm usually pretty calm at the table but I know 2 overs and 1 to the nut flush is not a bad play especially when short stacked. Luckily a few hands later I got to see him get put out and I ended placing 4th in that tourney. I wish I could've taken him out but it's still fun. First MTT cash. This was about a month ago.

Why is this even a thing. When you CALL, you have paid for the privilege of seeing what your opponent has. Sure, you can say I have nothing, but unless you muck, your opponent has every right to see your hand first. In fact, mucking should not be an option if your opponent wants to see.
@Csirkefoga

@@ligafftheindifferent3495 actually no, not quite. Good etiquette at the table is to make it possible for someone to fold their hand and not having to show. Garrett always!!! allows this, knowing that this is good for the game, too, and he usually shows his hand to take down the pot. You don't want bluffers discouraged, especially when You have a read. But!! If someone's BS-ing on the river and You show Your hand (don't know if he was the one to show or whether he just showed because Dylan said he'a got nothing) + You get slowrolled that's when You look up this opponents hand the next time on the river 100% of the time!! At a 100 table at the bike 9 handed we all agreed to put $40 in the middle pre flop and let the board run out. (The floor man said they couldn’t enforce it at that table, but we could agree to do whatever we wanted) A guy got dealt KK on the button, and when it got to him, he shoved all in for around $300. Everyone was pissed at him going back on his word, and he had no problem being the dick. I felt bad because I talked people into doing it to begin with. I was also pissed. I begged everyone at the table to call regardless of hand, and promised I’d pay back anyone if they lost money. A couple people didn’t understand that I didn’t care what their cards were, but we went 4 or 5 handed to the flop and checked it out. Thankfully the guy lost, and after a threat or two, he left the casino before I made it back from the cage to give people their money back.

He's literally putting in 20k with nothing vs the best player at the table. When you analyze all the circumstances, isn't it better to just surrender your 4500 and wait for a better spot vs a lesser opponent? Or at least a spot where you have a strong hand?? My best revenge is not really revenge, but following through on “set ups”. Where I show nothing but the nuts, then later on make a gig bluff when I know I am behind vs a waekish hand that has me beat. Or the reverse, showing a bluff early then cleaning them out when I show the best hand repeatedly. Otherwise, it’s calling the fish the over bluff or over value hands, and I call down light with Kinghigh sometimes or value bet light.

Am I the only one who thinks the A4s play is a massive punt? Floating a flop raise out of position with air is simply not a thing. And there's so many problems on the turn : 1) You don't block any of his best hands : sets, 2pair, 78. Since you got raised on the flop, you're very likely to be bluffing into the nuts. 2) You block folds. Garret could have raised flop as a bluff with hearts. And since the turn card doesn't change that much, the only folds you expect on the turn is from his flop bluffs. 3) You're reping very little for value. For example I'd be surprised to see an overpair take this line. Very easy to be overbluffing here and/or having no overpairs in range, which can be exploited by herocalling with 1 pair hands.

Seems backward sometimes that as you move up in stakes you can do more silly looking stuff. but it makes sense in a way because if you play against the best players in the world, playing straight forward only raising with your nut hands, they will smash you because way too predictable.

I agree with ya no matter what these guys say that a raise call is in order on flop to float. Dylan should have checked the flop though. Bluffing is a tool needed to be great poker player but I think the floating and bluffing gets used too much and is a losing play long run. Its the macho aspect of bluffing that drives a lot of egos to use the play. I’m on the side of pick spots….many players pick too many of those spots cuz they want to battle every hand. I see this as a big punt by Dylan. Dylan has better odds placing his whole stack on a baccarat bet

I had the nut flush on the turn and the guy in the three hole was betting into me I thought it was beautiful until he hit me hard on the river and I realized he must have a straight flush. For some reason he really irritated me. But I still was not for revenge I just try to play my cards. I knew on the river he must have a straight flush and I still put in the money. That was a number of years back and that was my bad beat story of ever. Today I might play that different. I'm laying down more hands now but that part was so big I figure I had to call which afterwards I realized I didn't

Best revenge is when some aggro recreationals stack you by some luck or shove some stupid hands and hit its. Then they so much emotional and talkative, send you gifts in oninle tables and you just sitting there and patience waiting how they build lucky stack. BUT there is a time, always versus lose aggro players when you finally have it, and then you know. There will be revenge after few seconds and all what you lose will give you back more because after cooler or some stupid calls, they do madness and you can call them shoves with some small pair or small Ax and stack them one more time :) Patience is the biggest revenge in poker. When you are coniveniece you are better player, just play your game and wait for recreational mistakes :)
