Wanted to replace a laptop with this zotac pc for vr motion capture as its portable and have at hand a small 1080p usb c screen at hand. Cheers mate! Bought it with 3060 for gaming. Works good. Probably gonna strip it and put it in small silent case in the future.

Small mistake 11:17 i7 ram speeds are 2933mhz. i5 version is max 2666mhz

Does that mean if i have the version where it comes with i5 from the factory, if i uprage the cpu the ram mhz will change automatically to 2933mhz?

So you can't turn on XMP profile. What about overclock the ram manually?

Problem w/ the Zotac MiniPCs is that you cant get them in the US, idk why their high performance SFF pcs are so limited in distribution, but because of that all the small Chinese builders are eating up the MiniPC Space.

i see many such small factor pcs having 10th gen cpus or max 11th gen. is this simply the issue of availability or is the 12th gen more power hungry and hence they cannot fit it inside? this thing was not impressive to be honest, i think for the same money you could get a decent laptop with a good screen already included in the cost.

I had bad experience with ZBOX. Mine was burn bad - PSU and Motherboard. And Zotac won't help me with warranty. I tried to bring it to private service center but cost of repair was more than $300 so I refuse it. Just plan to build new PC with Zotac CPU and GPU that luckily survived.

MSI Trident is a interesting choice. Checking the online shops I think the simplest advantage of the Zotac is its availability for purchase and the price tag is okay.

My brother and I both got these and his cooling system was broken so he returned it and while mine worked great for running Vegas I thought the build quality and external antennas was a bit cheap. The noise didn’t bother me but it was loud. After watching my brother deal with the support of minis forum with the hx90 he returned I thought zotac probably won’t be much better that’s just an assumption though so I returned this as well. We found the Nuc extremes for about the same price. He got the 11 and I got the 12 i7. I put a 3060ti in it and it ended up being 200 more in the end but I didn’t really need the 3070 anyway the 3060tis great runs Vegas with effects and all that and halo infinite on high graphics. But the Nuc extremes on amazon are a great price and wayyyy better build quality than this it’s not even close and the support is much better. Better upgradability as this you can only use older gen cpu at the moment and their site says they don’t currently have plans to change that. To sum it up just my advice to anyone go on amazon and get the Nuc extreme. Oh and thunderbolt and 10g Ethernet. Get the Extreme! I wish I had read a comment like this and I could have skipped all the ordering and returning.

Would love to see if the CPU is truly upgradable... Guessing not, despite the socket, since power limitations exist with Intel. But if a desktop CPU of the same "class" was doable, would it make sense? Regardless, awesome video as always and thank you for answering questions that I did t even know I had about my build!

Its possible to upgrade technically but Zotac told me that would void the 5y warranty.
