Why am I only discovering this in 2018? Ugh. Always late to the party.

Who is singing the high part of the vocal?

Not positive but pretty sure Dennis. It's on the CD sleeve and will verify that or just ask Jimmy. We all know Pat's voice. Great range, but in a low register. I became familiar with Jimmy's vocals on his Buzzed Meg (or is it Buzz??) Horrible at names, but he has an excellent voice, higher than Pat, and also great range. I wasn't so familiar with Dennis' vocals because even though I have his other bands CD, and saw them play an outdoor summer show a couple years ago, I don't believe I saw him sing. I'd almost guarantee the vocals weren't done playing drums, and even with an excellent voice, he may just have problems playing and singing at the same time. His drums are incredible, with impeccable timing, and pretty sure he would back off singing to keep that in order. I know Pat writes most of the Smithereens tunes, and aside from that, sings about every one. I've always noticed the more unique vocals usually get the lead in bands with really good background singers. What makes this band different is that most of us guys can sing in Pat's vocal range and register after the age of 12......like so many of the other bands I like but have to sing an octave down. (I know this was a long answer that rambled outside of the question.....I've been told I'm the kind of guy who when someone asks me what time it is, I tell them how to build a clock...lol) Will get a definite answer.

Verified it through Jimmy B that it is Dennis singing on top and Pat the bottom, down an octave. Dennis also sings the lead in "I'm a Sensation" on this album. I love the Smithereens, and this album really emphasizes their tremendous talents and diversity!!!

classiccom1953 That's hilarious!! Boy, this band is amazing at doing things impromptu. They've been doing it so long, that whether a bathroom break, or a blown speaker, they handle it in a way only the Smithereens can....turn it positive!! I've been to concerts, a concert anyway, where I saw a well known guitarist walk off stage pissed because of equipment malfunction....the Smithereens turn it into a totally awesome routine!!! Thanks for posting this!!!
