I have to admit something. In the 1980s when I was a teenager I completely ignored the Smiths. Their music just didn't appeal to me. I was more into Bowie, the Beatles, U2 and so on. Now I am in my 50s I get the Smiths. If I was to listen to this masterpiece back then it would have stopped me in my tracks. My only regret is that I didn't listen to this amazing band much earlier. My life would have massively enhanced.
