Johnny Marr used to hang out with people such as Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones during his Smiths days, which may have annoyed Morrissey. He played on many other artists records, both during and after The Smiths: Bryan Ferry, Billy Bragg, The Pretenders, The The and Kirsty McColl all spring to mind - as well as Electronic, his project with Bernard Sumner from New Order.
