Also Plan B is a prescription /behind the counter birth control pill for use within 1-3 days of accidental unplanned sexual intercourse (aka literally plan b). And Utah being a conservative state (Studio C is from Utah) birth control is not a topic that's aligned with their religion ( though Plan B is allowed in the state- I was a pharmacist there). Hence that joke too I felt. 😂

I grew up in Utah and was taught about birth control multiple times throughout public junior high and high school. I have also only ever had one religion teacher say birth control is against church teaching and that was his personal interpretation not a direct quote from a prophet or apostle. Most couples I know who are members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (the most prevelant religion in Utah) use birth control to one extent or another.

3:23 This kind of reminds me of a real case I studied in college called Lucy v. Zehmer Mr Lucy and Mr Zehmer were farmers and neighbors and Mr Lucy wanted to add Mr Zehmer’s land to his own for years but Zehmer wouldn’t sell. One day Lucy decided to try something new and took Zehmer out to dinner. They got a little intoxicated and then Lucy started saying “I bet you wouldn’t sell you farm for $50,000 dollars.” And Zehmer laughed and said “Well maybe I would!” Then Zehmer then wrote out a contract in several different napkins. He was laughing the whole time while he and Lucy made the contract together but Zehmer wrote the whole thing. Then they both signed it. Zehmer thought it was all just joke so he just laughed when Lucy took it home. Later Lucy asked Zehmer for the deed to his farm. Zehmer said it was only a joke and written on a napkin and he never actually intended to sell his farm. Lucy sued Zehmer over it. At court Lucy brought his napkin and detailed contract Zehmer signed. Zehmer argued he was only joking but the court said a contract on a napkin is still a valid contract. Zehmer then argued he was intoxicated but Lucy’s lawyer got him to testify it was he who wrote the entire contract and signed it. So the court ruled since he wrote the contract and signed it then it was obvious he intended to sell and therefore couldn’t go back on his word. So Zehmer lost the family farm. Moral of the story is don’t joke about things like contracts and land deeds. Courts will even take napkins as valid contracts
